Mel Gibson's Ex-Girlfriend Files Restraining Order, Alleges Domestic Violence

Alleging physical violence, Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, has reportedly obtained a restraining order against the actor, according to TMZ.

As Radar reported earlier, Gibson has a restraining order against Grigorieva, however, details of the order were unknown. TMZ is now reporting that the Oscar winner's sealed filing was intended to stop Grigorieva, with whom he has a seven-month-old daughter, from speaking publicly.

Grigorieva's lawyers went to Los Angeles family court Monday asking for an emergency hearing. Her representatives told the judge that Gibson had been "extremely violent" with her earlier this year, and the 'Lethal Weapon' star has since been ordered to have no contact with the Russian singer.

The following day, Gibson's lawyer reportedly sought to modify the order so the actor could have contact with his and Grigorieva's daughter, Lucia.

A Gibson source has dismissed Grigorieva's allegations, saying the alleged violence occurred in January and that she traveled extensively with him afterward. The source told TMZ, "In these cases, when somebody cries wolf, the judge is mandated to assume there's a wolf, until a full hearing can be held."

"Oksana was completely out of control that day, screaming, and shaking Lucia like a ragdoll," another source told PEOPLE. "Mel stepped in to stop her from injuring the baby."

A source close to Grigorieva confirms the reported violent acts happened in January, but is quick to add, "There were other acts after January that were not physical but still constituted domestic violence."

Gibson and Grigorieva broke up in April after dating for a little over a year. The breakup was said to be amicable. At the time, Grigorieva was quoted as saying, "We have split up, suddenly and recently ... Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason. But you will find out everything quite soon."

The couple made their first public appearance only a few weeks after Gibson's wife of over 30 years, Robyn, filed for divorce. Gibson has seven children from his marriage to Robyn. Grigorieva has a son, Alexander, from a previous relationship with actor Timothy Dalton.

Poor Mel. He has truley got himself way over his head, this women is a cat scratch fever, and you are stuck with her forever, the old saying is lay down with dogs and you will get up with fleas. Plus its like poetic justice you did your wife really dirty and found out the rainbow is not always better over the septic tank.

When one gets involved with another already involved person, what can they expect. Today marriages are so abused. I would be ashamed to be a female with my picture with a married man being shown everywhere. It seems to me she need serious help. I would also be ashamed to give information and items out for news publication of abuse. These should be kept under strict closed legal files unless in court hearings as needed. Today some people want to be noticed so bad they let their names and pictures be dragged all over newspapers and anywhere else. Mel needs help in many ways. Actually both of these people need to go behind closed doors for a long time and keep out of the news. They are throwing away the most cherished things in life especially happiness. Both reputations are in shreds. Such a waste.
