Director Sofia Coppola Welcomes Second Baby Girl

'Lost in Translation' director Sofia Coppola and Phoenix lead singer Thomas Mars welcomed a second baby girl, PEOPLE reports. The baby girl, Cosima, was born in New York City sometime "within the past month" according to a source close to the couple.

Cosima is the couple's second child. She joins big sister Romy who is 3½ years old.

The couple confirmed the pregnancy in December when Mars was asked during a backstage interview with Chicago's WXRT if Coppola was pregnant. "I heard the story that if you play Bach, [babies in the womb] get smarter," Thomas said at the time.

Mars is currently touring with his band to support their latest Grammy Award-winning album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. The Oscar-nominated Coppola recently finished post-production her latest film, 'Somewhere,' which opens in December and stars Stephen Dorff, Michelle Monaghan and Benecio Del Toro.

Mars and Coppola have been dating since 2005.

Ay, I had a baby girl 5 years ago, does anybody care??? Eh eh? Also, I'm pretty sure SHE was the baby in a Godfather movie & a number Godfather 5 Or something she played a Micheal daughter.

She was the infant in the church in Godfather One, she later appeared as Michael's daughter in Godfather Three. She cannot act, but she has been noted as a good director.
