Doesn't matter that most 6-11 year olds know one and not the other. It's not up to the stars celebrity or lack there-of to teach children right from wrong . . what to wear and what not to wear. First, Cyrus is a worldwide, household name and obviously more widely known than the other. Second, a large part of her market is still under the age of 10, whether she likes it or not. Of course her antics are going to get more attention. I personally could care less about either one of them, but for the sake of debate, it does make sense. In an ideal world, kids would see through all of these headcase celebrities but they don't because they are young and impressionable. That's part of being a kid. Pop culture is an influence on youth, whether you think it should be or not. Maybe they're are some kids who saw through celebrities and looked up to their congressman instead, but last time I checked, Alex P. Keaton was a fictional character.

I agree and I honestly didn't know who taylor was until this article. Also it's not like taylor is at the kids choice awards dancing on a pole in front of 5 year olds like some disney star I know of... This is the first time Ive heard or taylor singing and I am a teenager that watches the CW which Gossip Girl is on. and besides her music is better and look at the two in an interview , Momsen carried herself very articulate, well spoken and very likable person , Cyrus, all grown up, on Graham Norton was a disaster, talking about how Justin Bieber calls her and she's like, who;s this and stop calling and like why are you doing this and on and on. she portrays herself as a little girl playing dress up/ grown up and every time she speaks she kills the image of " hey I'm all grown up! " - Look at Dakota Fanning just Amazing talented just like Momsen's music who writes her own music , and that is the difference.

The problem is simple. Too many moms allow and encourage their young daughters to "look up to" these "role models" when in reality they are actresses portraying a character. Mom should talk to their daughter not sit them in front of a T.V. or flock them to concets for a "character" like Hannah Montana. Everyone needs a reality check...Parents need to get involved more with their children.
