Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart's Deliciously Suspicious Romance
Robert Pattinson and
Kristen Stewart are perfect for each other. Perpetually in
bad moods, they glower at the cameras and give
grumpy sound bites and generally behave as if their money and fame is some vast burden on their young shoulders. Compared to them,
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg look like Snooki and The Situation
making out in a hot-tub.
Of course, if you're too young to know who Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are, then R-Pattz and K-Stew are probably your romantic role models. If 'Twilight' fans are trusting enough to let a vampire nuzzle their necks, they're hardly going to suspect a studio of being so cynical as to
fake a relationship between its stars in order to sell movie tickets. But let's take a closer look at that relationship, shall we?
(And kids -- don't forget to ask a grown-up's permission before leaving an angry comment on this story!)
Even if we believe this toothsome twosome is really a couple -- and we don't, necessarily -- then there was at least some overlap with Kristen's previous beau, Michael Angarano. She was with Angarano on-set while filming 'New Moon,' when she
explicitly denied a relationship with Pattinson. ("Rob and I are good friends," she told Nylon magazine, but then couldn't resist the characteristically self-pitying: "It's only natural that we sort of lean on each other, because we're put in the most f***ing psychotic situations.")
Since that flat-out denial, there has been no official update from either of the pair. They were
photographed by a small-town blogger on vacation together in Britain in January, and may or may not have
"confessed" to Oprah that they're a couple -- off camera, of course.
And in March, Kristen attended the
New York premiere of Rob's film 'Remember Me,' which she is not in, although they were not side-by-side. (Pattinson spent the night glued to his co-star, Emilie de Ravin, maybe to make up for the fact that he's so beautiful the film's producers figured they only needed to use one of her eyes and some teeth on the
movie poster.)
Perhaps the media wouldn't be so suspicious of the real relationship between Rob and Kristen if there wasn't such a massive financial incentive for them to lead us along. All this speculation that the fictional Edward Cullen and Bella Swan are in lurve in real life is a bonanza for the 'Twilight' franchise -- whose first two films have
grossed more than $1.1 billion at the box office worldwide.
Fake relationships have become such a common marketing tool in film and television that we even dubbed it
"the Aniston effect" earlier this year when three different 'Dancing With The Stars' couples tried to get us to believe that their chemistry was off-screen as well as on. And if Rob and Kristen really are just following the studio's orders to generate heat for their films, at least it would explain why they're so sour all the time.
Perhaps what is so galling about the pair's miserable attitude is that neither brings as much to their roles as the roles have brought to them. They are journeyman actors playing parts that require no range: Any two out of two million other good-looking drama school grads could do the same jobs just as well.
Yet by being cast, Pattinson and Stewart have not only become cultural icons -- they're also guaranteed a lifetime income which will make them spectacularly wealthy. You'd think that, at least, might be enough for one of them to crack a smile.

I think they are both gay and the fake romance is both a convenient cover and a marketing ploy.

I think Pattinson is gay. He hates vaginas.
I hate twilight, it sucks.
I agree with you, they both seem like they like the same sex, especially Kristin Stewart, she's always seemed butch to me. I also agree with the man who wrote this article, I'm so over their whole "teenage angst" routine. At least they can pretend like they're enjoying life.
I honestly don't care whether they date, I just can't stand them as people. She acts as if this is some heavy burden to bear, that people are more interested in her life than her acting,umm...take a look at the world? what do you see? yep thats right, billions of people who can't fed themselves. I just wish they would have a bit of perception as opposed to vainty. I dont think either have any acting skills, twilight was possibly the most irritating experiences of my life. Do not get the attraction with him. She is pretty though.

So its like this...this story is so hypocritical especially because the title is "Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart's DELICIOUSLY Suspicious Romance" everyone jump on board the "twilight" train!
They go way out of their way to be seen together if they aren't dating, e.g. visiting each other in europe. Fair play if they are, just stop saturating the press with it. I don't think they can act. I have a friend who goes to uni in london, and while this is probably b-s, she says she knew friends of his from pubs in london a few years ago and they played for both sides, so who knows?

You're crazy! You say Rob and Kristen "glower at the cameras" but show a picture of them with big smiles on their faces. In case you didn't notice, they have been all smiles recently (not "sour") and almost giggly in their Eclipse press interviews. They may not be able to show their full range of emotions in the Twilight movies, but give them props for choosing other interesting movies to act in. We have yet to see their full potential - Kristen's only 20! And no, they are not faking their relationship. They are clearly smitten and are currently shacking up outside of LA - not that you care. Leave these love birds alone and pick on all the other way less talented "actors" in Hollywood.

I agree they have been happy acting on all the interviews I see them on lately, it is just something for the media to keep on about, Rob has always acted happy and excited. The kind of fame they are getting is very overwhelming but I think they appreciate it all they just aren't sure how to handle it yet. I don't want to be know as a hater that is what is not cool.
I really don't care about their private life, but the love they show toward each other in the movie is what makes me want to see these movies. A love that the person is willing to die for the other is the kind of love that doesb't exists anymore. I have never had someone to love me that way and I'm over 50.

you said a mouth full it is only a movie and i am glad to say i do have an edward in my life
Kary I agree with you in that you can't find a love anymore that will die for you. I am 61 years old and I was married for 35 years and my husband was my love from 2nd grade through high school and then we married. I truly thought it was love but he found him a young lady on the internet from the Philippians and said good bye to me. Rob and Kristen bless a lot of people and they have blessed me and really have given me another reason to go on. I love reading about them and watching them; in fact ,I have read all four Twilight books nine times each, watched the DVD on 'Twilight' 110 times and watched the DVD on 'New Moon' 74 times, and watched both movies on the big screen two times each and watch the DVD on each movie at least two to five times each week, every week plus I have two bought tickets in advance for me to see 'Eclipse' so I am hooked on this love story and like I said, it has given me reason to go on living. May God continue to bless Rob and Kristen and truly give them a love that is forever and that is real and true for them on screen and off screen.
You ladies are sad and deluded. I guess you'll just have to keep on sharing your love with your 18 cats and your shower head.
I think the pure over saturation of this Twilight crap just hurts them. Kristen was actually good in "The Wild" and Rob was great in "Remember Me", but they are young growing actors, they haven't figured out LIFE yet, much less acting. Give them some room to breathe and you could see good things I think.

It's impossible to find two less talented actors than those two snotty, self-righteous Idiots. When the Twilight Fascination goes, so will their careers
Reply
yeah but they are getting PAID well for not being talent!! HA Ha
actually diane, kristen is a great actress and had a career before the twilight series. if you watch some of her previous stuff you will find that she is really very talented.
Interesting perspective. Just curious though do know that since Kstews bday (April 9th) which she spent with Rob she has worn a gold band on her middle finger. One should never speculate but they are good if it is indeed a game they are playing. But i for one hope its not cuz those two pretty people look damn fine together, and if they not Mr. Rpatz must be one horny man!!

I think you're hitting the nail right on the head. It makes alot of sense.
