Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart's Deliciously Suspicious Romance
Robert Pattinson and
Kristen Stewart are perfect for each other. Perpetually in
bad moods, they glower at the cameras and give
grumpy sound bites and generally behave as if their money and fame is some vast burden on their young shoulders. Compared to them,
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg look like Snooki and The Situation
making out in a hot-tub.
Of course, if you're too young to know who Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are, then R-Pattz and K-Stew are probably your romantic role models. If 'Twilight' fans are trusting enough to let a vampire nuzzle their necks, they're hardly going to suspect a studio of being so cynical as to
fake a relationship between its stars in order to sell movie tickets. But let's take a closer look at that relationship, shall we?
(And kids -- don't forget to ask a grown-up's permission before leaving an angry comment on this story!)
Even if we believe this toothsome twosome is really a couple -- and we don't, necessarily -- then there was at least some overlap with Kristen's previous beau, Michael Angarano. She was with Angarano on-set while filming 'New Moon,' when she
explicitly denied a relationship with Pattinson. ("Rob and I are good friends," she told Nylon magazine, but then couldn't resist the characteristically self-pitying: "It's only natural that we sort of lean on each other, because we're put in the most f***ing psychotic situations.")
Since that flat-out denial, there has been no official update from either of the pair. They were
photographed by a small-town blogger on vacation together in Britain in January, and may or may not have
"confessed" to Oprah that they're a couple -- off camera, of course.
And in March, Kristen attended the
New York premiere of Rob's film 'Remember Me,' which she is not in, although they were not side-by-side. (Pattinson spent the night glued to his co-star, Emilie de Ravin, maybe to make up for the fact that he's so beautiful the film's producers figured they only needed to use one of her eyes and some teeth on the
movie poster.)
Perhaps the media wouldn't be so suspicious of the real relationship between Rob and Kristen if there wasn't such a massive financial incentive for them to lead us along. All this speculation that the fictional Edward Cullen and Bella Swan are in lurve in real life is a bonanza for the 'Twilight' franchise -- whose first two films have
grossed more than $1.1 billion at the box office worldwide.
Fake relationships have become such a common marketing tool in film and television that we even dubbed it
"the Aniston effect" earlier this year when three different 'Dancing With The Stars' couples tried to get us to believe that their chemistry was off-screen as well as on. And if Rob and Kristen really are just following the studio's orders to generate heat for their films, at least it would explain why they're so sour all the time.
Perhaps what is so galling about the pair's miserable attitude is that neither brings as much to their roles as the roles have brought to them. They are journeyman actors playing parts that require no range: Any two out of two million other good-looking drama school grads could do the same jobs just as well.
Yet by being cast, Pattinson and Stewart have not only become cultural icons -- they're also guaranteed a lifetime income which will make them spectacularly wealthy. You'd think that, at least, might be enough for one of them to crack a smile.

Show us the money shot and all the rumors will stop. If these two are really dating, with all of the photographers and fans out there with cameras, you mean no one has captured them kissing, hugging suggestively or holding hands in a romantic way without realizing they are on camera? Hey, if this supposed romance ends when the Twilight movies cease, there's the proof.

I think both Rob and Kristen are very nice people. They have a lot to contend with being so young and I think the age that they are is what makes them the way they are.
I absolutely love the movies, love watching their interview and love reading about them. I wish both of them nothing but the best and would love someday to meet them both. Give the kids a break - Hollywood can be very cruel.

They're both miserable and they both stink. Twilight's target audience is preteen girls anyways.

BEN-
THEY ARE JUST KIDS!!!! and who cares????

My God, some of you are so MEAN!! How can you judge these people so callously when you don't even know them?! Obvously everyone s entitled to their own opinion but I think the author of this article has gone too far. Has it never occured to anyone that their private lives is none of our business?!
Personally, I adore them and the rest of the Twilight cast as I wholeheartedly adore the books and the flms. I'm with everyone who's said something nice about them. They've got to have someone defending their corner for it to be a fair fight.

'Druggie eyes' and 'Caterpillar forehead' make a perfect couple.

Oh my god everyone has a right to their own opinion and it just so happens that not everyone is going to agree with yours. Not everyone likes Twilight, get over it.
First off Im guessing that the writer of this article is a pre-teen himself or have one of his obsessed little daughters write this article for him. I do not understand how the heck Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are good romantic role models either, same goes for Kristen (or Im sorry K-Stew) And R-Pattz! *facepalm* The only reason those two talentless teens would be together is because they finally figured out that they have no future after this Twilight thing ends. Oh before someone says anything about that statementIm allowed to call them talentless, I am majoring in performing arts and like Ben basically said anyone could play these roles considering there is absolutely no depth to their characters. If you want a romantic couple to look up to, read or watch something like Gone With The Wind, or The Thorn Birds.

these 2 young people have had there lives turned upside down by the fame they have gotten thru the Twilight Saga. I think they both do the best they can with handling it, and also in interviews. A person can not always put on a happy face! whether they are a couple or not, is there business and if they are good for them and if they want to keep it private that is there choice. Twilight is a great series and Rob and Kristen play there roles perfectly. And they will continue there careers after Twilight. Remember Me is an awsome movie and Rob was great! If you dont like them, dont watch them, its that easy. People sit and judge people to damn much!

i don't see why they would need a marketing ploy for the twilight series. the books are huge and movies will make money whether or not their dating or not. nobody really cares except for crazy little girls who aren't old enough to know anything anyway. i don't think either 1 of them are gay, thats just ignorant and jealous people talkin sh--!! and i wouldn't like bein hounded by the press every where i went either. celebs r people to my god let them have SOMEWHAT of a private life!!!!!

seen together if they aren't dating, e.g. visiting each other in europe. Fair play if they are, just stop saturating the press with it. I don't think they can act. I have a friend who goes to uni in london,

I agree with Trystan - don't really hate her - i just think she is one of the worlds crapiest - crapiest actors EVER!!!!!

I do not think these two go out. Twilight Saga are my favorite books and I love the movies but someone better than Kristen could have been picked for the role of Bella, and Rob is a good fit for Edward even though if looked hard enough someone else could have took his role. I think out of all of them Taylor is a better actor, which should put both of them to shame. I do think they are faking a relationship for publicity but either way people would still go see the movie. Overall the books are better but its still worth watching

Thank you for printing what me and my friends all have said. A poor choice for the leading rolls, to much looking bored and bad really bad acting. It's to bad the director didn't get more experience actors for such a good story.Yes she does not seem to be a very feminine girl, walks like a duck, talks like a duck well..............!

I definitely agree that the casting wasn't that great in Twilight. Personally,I don't understand the attractiveness of either of the two. But Kristen's acting is severely irritating: she is either biting her lip or raising her eyebrow in almost every scene and it gets so redundant. Pattison and Stewart were two actors who got very lucky and are paying off from and idealized romance, not their skills.

Bravo, Pop Eater. You nailed it.

My My My, people this is just a movie and those two are just actors what difference in your life is it going to make if they are a couple or not? obviously the writer of this story has no life of his own that he has to worry about Kristin and Robert being a couple. I personally like the movies finally something other that 2 hour remakes of cartoons or remade super hero's And when I am sitting there watching it I am not sitting there thinking oh I wonder if KS and RP are really this much in love in real life give me a break! But Ben seems to like to rile people up thinking we are all stupid enough to fall for his games Its a movie folks and all that really matters is that Bella and Edward are the couple NOT Kristin and Robert. Now tell us Ben are you really a couple or just faking it so we will read your jiberish on here? lol

Kristin Stewart is a lesbian. She has admitted it. The makers of the movie want people to think they are a couple so they won't lose fans and they will continue to make millions.
