'American Pie' actor Chris Klein could find himself facing a mandatory sentence of 4 days in jail if he's found guilty of his second DUI offense, PEOPLE reports. Klein was arrested on June 16 around 3 a.m. after he was seen driving erratically. His blood alcohol was found to be nearly three times the legal limit, the authorities said.
The actor is charged with two offenses: driving under the influence with a prior conviction and driving with a .08 blood alcohol level or higher. Klein's previous conviction was in 2005.
Due to a new California law for repeat DUI offenders, Klein might have to do a breath check for alcohol in his system each time he wants to drive his car. The California Highway Patrol spokesman Leland Tang confirmed, "If he wants his license back, Klein will have to get an interlock device installed in his car and blow into it every time he wants to start the engine."

Actors like this, always getting in trouble, but people want to beat up on peoplr like Tom Cruise- jumping on a couch or speaking out on Scientology.. How may DUIs for TOM?? None.. THis guy- good actor, but you did the crime, due the time. IF it was me, I would go to jail. And you better just thank God you didn't kill someone. Wake up. Use your talent and money for good.

I've never understood this. ALL that money...take a limo! Duh!
AMEN BROTHER!!! GOOD CALL!
I think the that is so funny, they take your license for 3 months up to a year, give you a fine for driving without insurance, then you have to pay to get them back. And on top of that they took cig. off the tv,resturants, and bars because it kills people, but they still have beer on tv and wine which kills people to.That just isn't very smart, but the rich can do anything and get away with it,but not the poor.

I live on an army post that has an extremely high DUI rate...they are constantly having meetings to discuss this problem, and when leaving post there is even a sign that lists all the fatalities for the year...they sell liquor at all the gas stations
What a huge story! Way to go guys! This is better than the big announcement about Amanda Bynes "retiring" from showbiz.

Uh, Nico, this is the ENTERTAINMENT section. You know, gossip and fluff news. If you want hard core news, this isn't the site for it. Choose, but choose wisely.
Now, if they could just install an interlock device on Lindsey Lohan's car, too, the people of California would be a lot safer!

I guess the law applies for one but not another. Ex.LL

Well duh? Your just now figuring that out? C'mon you can do better than that! Money talks & BS walks...
Four days in jail for second offense. What will they give him the third time the key to the city. Real tough california, but how about this drunken bum gets three years and loses his license for life. Are you going to wait until he gets drunk and kills someone. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

If this jerk wasnt an actor would he lose his license.YES! 4 days for driving under the influence after a conviction for the same crime. This is a travesty. What is wrong with law enforcement? Is this guy klein a two year old? Did he not know what he was doing was wrong? He should lose his license for ten years minimum and he should spend 1 year in jail. Because maybe next time he kills someone.

4 days for a 2nd offence DUI huh.....OK all you drinkers....Move to hollywood...That is insane....Why even waste his time or our time...4 days what a flippin JOKE!!!!

He will never serve any time and if he does it will be minor time in a nice place - not real prison.
People who get one DUI without hurting a person I can see getting probation. But a second DUI - they should do jail time as they are taking other humans lives in danger and this is not right. DUI is a killer crime and no one should get off lightly with it. Our DUI laws need to be stronger.

Four days for the second arrest is a slap on the wrist. One thing I do not understand is the money these actors and Pro Athletes have why don't the just hire a town car talk business once during the night and it is a tax write off.
Here is an interesting fact, cops are among the top three professionals for being alcoholics, but they are not in the Top 100 for arrest WONDER WHY?

Aren't these celebrities wonderful icons and role models for our young people in today's society? If they truly had talent and goals, they would be too focused on their craft to have time to engage in their pitiful antics. Somwone should round them up, ship them off to a deserted island, and let them nauseate each other with their outrageous behavior and whatever it is they consider their "talent".

Actors, singers and athletes should never, ever, be role models for kids. They only role models they should have are Mom, Dad, and any other family member. Those that are famous are still just people with faults, like any of us. They shouldn't have to pretend to be anything else just to help raise your kids. That's the parents job. Look at Tiger Woods, not a role model, just a flawed human.
