'Melrose' Star Amy Locane Charged in Deadly Crash

'Melrose Place' actress Amy Locane-Bovenizer has been charged with vehicular homicide following a wine-fueled crash Sunday night in Montgomery, New Jersey, that left one woman dead and a man in critical condition.
Locane-Bovenizer was involved in a hit-and-run collision near Princeton with an unrelated car at around 9 PM Sunday. While attempting to leave the scene of that accident, she slammed her 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe into the passenger side of another vehicle, killing Helene Seeman, the
Star-Ledger reports. The driver of the car, Fred Seeman, was flown to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.
In Princeton, just miles away from the fatal crash in Montgomery, the 38-year-old actress rear-ended a different vehicle, Somerset County Acting Prosecutor A. Peter DeMarco, Jr. said in a statement. Locane-Bovenizer fled the scene when the driver of that car attempted to call for help, so he followed her, telling police that the actress was "swerving and knocking down several mailboxes."
Following the Princeton collision, Locane-Bovenizer drove the 17 miles to Montgomery, where she struck the Seeman's car. Officers on the scene said she had alcohol on her breath and her eyes were bloodshot. She was arrested and taken to a nearby medical center to have her blood-alcohol level tested.
Locane-Bovenizer has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault by automobile. At her arraignment on Monday afternoon, Superior Court Judge Robert Reed set her bail at $50,000.
She faces 5-10 years in state prison if convicted, and in accordance with state law, she would be required to serve 85 percent of the term without parole.
While in custody, the actress admitted to having several glasses of wine that day. Locane-Bovenizer, who currently resides near the scene of the accidents in central New Jersey, may have been leaving the Off-Broadstreet Theatre in Hopewell, where a play in which she stars had a matinee showing on Sunday.
Locane-Bovenizer starred opposite Johnny Depp in the 1990 film 'Cry-Baby' and had a prominent role in the star-studded 1994 film 'Airheads' with Adam Sandler and Chris Farely. Other acting credits include 'School Ties' with Brendan Fraser and the 2002 indie film 'Secretary,' starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. She is best known for her run as aerobics instructor Sandy Louise Harling on the hit series 'Melrose Place.'
The actress married Mark Bovenizer in 2008 and the couple has two daughters, ages 3 and 1.

This is a tragic story. I am from Montgomery and know this family through another family. The mother, Helene, died in her son's arms that night...

SHE WAS NOT AN AEROBICS INSTRUCTOR ON MELROSE. RHONDA WAS THE INSTRUCTOR OF FAMED CARDIOFUNK!!!!
She played a budding actress on Melrose Place, who got written off "because they didn't think it was cool to have an actress on an LA show". That reason never made sense to me why she got booted, but apparently it was because she was significantly younger than her female counterparts, which unfortunately, caused jealous rifts among the cast.

I hate a drunk driver, I only could wish this person would rot in jail. The facts are that if one has money, they normally get probation. This loser will be on probation for a long time. She will never see the inside of any prison.
There are two sets of laws in America, one for the rich, and one for us working people.
BS talks, and money walks,, every time.

Here is the bottom line, she will overpay some ridiculous lawyer,
and do no jail time!! Remember, she is a celebrity...Like every
other celebrity whom has been given special treatment...spoiled,
self-indulgent, narcissists, with zero accountability!!! I can think of at least a dozen celebrities (just off the top of my head)
whom have had alcohol-related car accidents, where someone was killed, or they have fled the scene, or both!! This is the element our society worships!! WOW, what stellar standards we have.....

I would agree with you if she was still a celebrity. I'd say she definitely falls under the category of "has been" these days. I'm guessing she will do some jail time.
She'll get off because she'll claim the accident happened because she was scared of the person chasing her, who was the guy from the scene of the first accident who was following her so that he could figure out her license plate number to give to the cops.

Maybe you should all find out the facts before you judge so quickly
