Eminem Stuns with First-Week Sales for 'Recovery'

Eminem's 'Recovery' isn't just his sixth straight No. 1 debut on the Billboard album chart -- it's the record-destroyer for 2010's best first-week sales, moving 741,000 copies since its June 18 release.

Also impressive: Billboard reports Slim Shady's seventh LP marks the biggest sales week for any album since AC/DC's 2008 offering, 'Black Ice.' Eminem's new disc features guest spots from Rihanna, Pink and Lil Wayne.

The top 2010 spots prior to Em's decisive chart-topping belonged to Sade ('Soldier of Love,' 502,000 copies), Lady Antebellum ('Need You Now,' 481,000 copies) and rapper Drake's debut ('Thank Me Later,' 462,989 estimated copies).

The new disc pulled a better week than Eminem's 2009 disc, 'Relapse,' and his 2005 greatest hits package. 'Recovery' also scored impressive digital digits with 255,000 downloads -- second-best only to Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends' in 2008. The CD couldn't top 1 million copies in its first week, however, a feat Eminem achieved twice before, in the recording industry's finer days.

EMINEM is one of the greatest musicians in the last decade. he will always be #1 anytime he has an album out. but the new album is defiantly the best one he has put out ever...buy it... the reason its sales are so great is they play all his edited songs on the radio and people can buy his xrated album instead no one wants to hear this guy get beeped he is a lyrical genius. name one person who is better? oh and the new Drake album is horrible...

Eminem is the greatest rapper of all times, hands down. He has a unique sound and puts together the best lyrics and puns in his songs. This album seems like an apology for the Relaspse album, but I liked that one as well. The songs featuring Rhianna and Pink were the best or I should say their parts sucked, but the songs aren't their's so it's understanable. Little Wayne should not be in a song with Eminem since he sounds like he's just talking to a beat while Em raps 100mph so the contrast is too great talent wise. All in all Eminem is the greatest and that's all there is to it.

So, what song is really selling Recovery? I know they're pushing Not Afraid, because of the video, but I wasn't sure if that was the song that's everybody likes.

Man, the one thing I really like about this guy is that there's no gray area with him. Right or wrong...agree with him or not, you know what he's saying about something and where he stands. Gotta' respect that. (His raps don't suck neither!)

Just eminem does not have a rhyming dictionary. BACOOOOCK!!!

I'm not even all that into rap yet I am able to recognize a true lyrical poet when I see one. I believe he is the best rapper from past to present. No one can touch him. On second thought he is right up there with Tupac.
