Dean McDermott in Hospital with Collapsed Lung

Dean McDermott is in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles-area hospital with a punctured and collapsed lung following a motorcycle accident, PEOPLE reports. He was dirt bike riding with two friends on Tuesday when he crashed his bike. He is expected to make a full recovery.

His wife, Tori Spelling, was the first one called to the ER. "His friend called me and said he was in the ER," she said. "He didn't want to scare me, so he just said he had a crash and that they were X-raying him."

"At first I was mad," Spelling said. "I was pissed that he was out biking and crashed. But when I showed up and saw him lying there, and they told me they were admitting him to ICU with a collapsed lung, my heart dropped. My biggest fear had come true."

The couple currently star on the reality show 'Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood' and have a son, Liam, 3, and a daughter, Stella, 2.

Although McDermott vowed earlier this year to give up racing after he fractured his shoulder in a motorcycle accident, he obviously slipped.

Spelling reveals her husband has vowed once again to give up the sport. "When I first saw him, he just softly said 'I'm so sorry,'" Spelling recalled. "I just held his hand and cried. That's when he said, 'I'll never do this again. You and the kids mean everything to me.'"

Thank god he is okay. I love Tori and Dean. They're not afraid to put it all out there and they have a beautiful family. Its too bad he won't be on his bike. He loves riding so much

I love Tori and Dean and I'm a 63 year old grandmother. But now that it looks like he's going to be okay, I'm going to scold him and say, "Geez, Dean, didn't you take lessons and learn how to drive those things?" Maybe it is time to retire the bikes and get a safer hobby. Get well soon."

I like Tori and Dean, too. And I hate most reality shows. What really makes a show a hit, though, is cute, precocious kids. Liam and Stella are adorable. Plus, the couple has enough different things going on in their lives, and enough off-beat friends to keep it from getting boring. But I had a feeling Dean was headed for another accident if he kept riding. I think he should stick to getting the acting career back on track.

I don't know who he is, but what a wimp! I nearly lost my leg in a bike wreck in April '08. I'm not quitting riding. Wear the safety gear, grow a pair, & ride!

Tennessee Budd, Just by you name, we can guess, you apparently don't wear a helmet.

Only problem with that, though, is Dean's apparently not as good at racing as he seems to think he is. And a collapsed lung requiring ICU care isn't minor. He needs to stay on the non-pro tracks.

It has to be more serious than a regular collapsed lung? My husband had that happen to him twice and neither time he was in ICU. Yes, he spent time in the hospital hooked up to all kinds of things (including major pain killers) but not even close to an ICU case.

BTW my husbands wasn't from any kid of accident. Just happened. Something about spots or bubbles on lungs that make some people get them? This was a zillion years ago and none since.

Oh, and ccarr014, "does" doesn't have any apostrophes in it, dummy.
