Dean McDermott in Hospital with Collapsed Lung

Dean McDermott is in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles-area hospital with a punctured and collapsed lung following a motorcycle accident, PEOPLE reports. He was dirt bike riding with two friends on Tuesday when he crashed his bike. He is expected to make a full recovery.

His wife, Tori Spelling, was the first one called to the ER. "His friend called me and said he was in the ER," she said. "He didn't want to scare me, so he just said he had a crash and that they were X-raying him."

"At first I was mad," Spelling said. "I was pissed that he was out biking and crashed. But when I showed up and saw him lying there, and they told me they were admitting him to ICU with a collapsed lung, my heart dropped. My biggest fear had come true."

The couple currently star on the reality show 'Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood' and have a son, Liam, 3, and a daughter, Stella, 2.

Although McDermott vowed earlier this year to give up racing after he fractured his shoulder in a motorcycle accident, he obviously slipped.

Spelling reveals her husband has vowed once again to give up the sport. "When I first saw him, he just softly said 'I'm so sorry,'" Spelling recalled. "I just held his hand and cried. That's when he said, 'I'll never do this again. You and the kids mean everything to me.'"

I'm VERY glad you will be okay! We just lost my brother-in-law to a freak motorcycle accident 2 mos ago. He was marking trails for a race the following day, and hit a tree. Very sad! I know how fun it is to ride, but your family would be lost if something happened to you. Take care.

I wish Dean a speedy recovery. Things like this can put one's priorities in perspective. I agree with Jennifer Johnson - Dean should not risk riding motorcycles again. His family is too important for him to risk his life in that manner. Some are just better at riding bikes than others. When you put your family through this kind of stress just because of a sport, perhaps it is time to re-evaluate things. Granted, people can get hurt in hundreds of ways and there are no guarantees that making lifestyle changes will keep us totally safe, but giving up the motorcycle riding seems to be a good idea for Dean and for his family.

What a relief! I thoght they said DYLAN McDermott! That would be upsetting because he's a real actor with real talent. Dean McDermott is just a guy who for some reason left his wife and babies to marry Tori Spelling and do a reality show!

OH GOD NO! Poor Dean. Tori's going to FREAK OUT! and make his life miserable. That girl has serious insecurity issues that she needs to deal with or she's going to end up driving Dean away for good.

I wonder how his first wife and children feel when they see his (new) happy little family? She dumped her new husband of I believe some seven months after their gigantic Spelling-style wedding for Dean, who, it seems, dumped his whole family for the Spelling millions. I don't think Aaron Spelling was too happy about it, because he wrote her out of his will, and they had to make their own money. Dean must have been so disappointed. Can you imagine how his children feel when they look at him on TV cuddling his new children? I hope he's well, of course, but I don't watch people who dump their first families for money.

Ok I love Tori & I used to love Dean, but I think he is shady. He has said this same thing "I'll never do it again" many times. I feel so for Tori when I am watching the show because I don't think he is as plugged in as she is. I think she is awesome. I love her projects/parties. Maybe this type of (again) selfish behavior is why her 90210 cast mates kept their distance since marrying Dean.

I never watch the show, and I am glad that he will be alright. But I must say ever since these two got together after betraying their significant other, it has been one thing after another, whether it is health wise or other personal problems. I guess you really do reap what you sow.

I'm glad Dean will be ok, but I'm really worried about Tori, she's going to be in the hospital next if she doesn't start eating. Her family should get her some help and make her admit she's anorexia before something bad happens.
