Chelsea Clinton's Summer Wedding Will Be Gore-Free

The news broke on Thursday that former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton will tie the knot with fiance Marc Mezvinsky in upstate New York on July 31. The guest list will likely be massive and include dignitaries and celebrities, but you can count two ol' friends out: Al and Tipper Gore.

"The Gores are not attending the wedding," family spokeswoman Kalee Kreider told the New York Daily News. "They both wish Chelsea well, believe she is a wonderful young woman, and they share in the family's excitement."

As the Gores recently split up after 40 years of marriage, their absence isn't a huge surprise. And with the former vice president now dealing with allegations he sexually assaulted a massage therapist in Oregon, staying away from the Clinton wedding only seems like the prudent thing to do.

But were they even invited? Kreider declined to divulge that information to the News, but in an interview with The Daily Beast back in December, Gore said he had just told his old boss, Bill Clinton, that he was "looking forward to Chelsea's wedding."

The AP reported on Thursday that Clinton and Mezvinsky, an investment banker, will wed at a private mansion just outside Rhinebeck, NY, about two hours north of New York City.

How sad. I won't be attending either. I think the "Nathan's Hotdog Eating Contest" falls on the same day? I never miss watching that. Will John Edwards, his new love, and baby be attending?

What a farce. Is she a freaking princess or something? Who cares about this buck tooth spoiled spotlight hogger. I don't feel sorry for her being from a home with two "high level politicians and security". She loved it and got very rich from it. And as for Al Gore, he's as much of a pervert as Bill Clinton is. What a pair to draw to.

How sad you must be. She is a creature of God's and he doesn't make mistakes. Chelsea has been through Hell and highwater all her teen and young adult life because of narrow minded people. One does not have to be beautiful (and she is not) to have a good heart and help others. Next time you post a response please remember what my third grade teacher taught us NON... that means Nice or Nothing. We can do without your sad statements. For me I with Miss Clinton and her husband to be only the best. Good luck to them.
