George Michael Smashes Car Into London Shop

George Michael was arrested after he crashed his Range Rover into a London shop at around 3:30 AM Sunday morning. The singer allegedly climbed out of his car and waited for police to arrive. According to UK's Daily Mail, he was not given a breathalyzer test at the scene but was taken to a north London police station. The 47-year-old star was released on bail until August. "Police were called at approximately 3.30 AM on Sunday to reports of a vehicle in collision with a building ... A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive. He was taken to a north London police station and later bailed to return on August 13 pending inquiries," a Metropolitan Police spokesman told the newspaper.

In 2007, the 'Faith' singer was arrested in Cricklewood, north-west London, after motorists reported a car obstructing the road at traffic lights. He pleaded guilty to driving while while under the influence of drugs. He was banned from driving for two years and sentenced to community service.

At the time, he told the BBC that his cannabis use was a problem, and he wished he could smoke less of it and was constantly trying to do so.

Last year, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence when his Land Rover hit a lorry on the A34 in Berkshire. He was released without charge because he had just completed a two-year driving ban at the time.

Hmm wonder why he gets so many chances without any real penalties. I guess being a "Celebrity" that is what happens. He will lose his license only AFTER he kills an innocent person. Sad......

I feel sad when I read these stories about George because he's a fantastic singer and entertainer. It's too bad that he hasn't been able to get proper help. I wish someone would help to reactivate his career. I know he was on American Idol a couple of years ago and he was fantastic. If you want to seek him at his peak, check him out on You Tube. Some really great singing as opposed to the crap they call music today - i.e, Justin Beiber. It was a joke to see him on the Fourth of July show.

yeah, and they gave this guy kids to raise??? Give me a break. Why was he out at 3:30 AM instead of being home with his kids!!! Oh wait, that's right, he's a celebrity and some nanny is raising his kids while he's out getting high and getting his fudge packed.
Sorry, but 99% of celebrities shouldn't be allowed anywhere even close to kids.
It's a shame because he DID have a great voice. But, me thinks his vocal chords have been stretched WAAAAYYYY too many times.

How many times will he be arrested before they punish him ? A monetary fine doesn't hurt or inconvience these people. They pay it and continue what they were doing .Looks like England has the same problem that we do with out of control celebrities that get a slap on the wrist and are sent on their merry way .
