Who 'Blew It' During Jake and Vienna's Battle Royale?

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi slung insult after brutal insult last night during their first televised chitchat together since their relationship went kaboom. (He said: "I'm disgusted with you." She said: "You are a fame whore.") Although it may have made for great reality TV, industry insiders tell me their performance has killed both of their aspiring careers.

"There were no winners last night," a TV executive tells me. "We got to see a different side of two people we thought we knew very well. And it wasn't an attractive side. In short, that interview was a disaster. It certainly didn't do Jake or Vienna any good."

Pressed for a pick, my source conceded that if there had to be a winner, it was Vienna -- but mostly because Jake came off as a bit nasty.

"The Jake we saw last night was so different from the nice guy we thought we knew. He has left us all wondering if everything he ever did was an act. His career is over for sure."

Vienna, who has already secured a job at a marketing company in Los Angeles, says she has no plans to pursue a career in show business.

However, Jake has never hidden his ambitions to become a full-time actor. According to IMDB, Pavelka worked as an actor long before his 'Bachelor' fame, with a 1999 spot on the cult/hoaky series 'Walker, Texas Ranger' and a role in the TV flick 'The President's Men.' For both roles, Pavelka is credited as Jake Landrum. Post-'Bachelor' fame, Jake has landed a guest spot on the Lifetime series 'Drop Dead Diva,' where he will play a bachelor contestant on a dating show.

But that was before we got to see how nasty he really is.

"Jake is a joke in the business and last night's performance has confirmed it," a casting director tells me. "He thinks he's going to be the next Tom Cruise, where in reality he is already the next Spencer Pratt." Ouch.

The director continues: "My advice is save as much 'Bachelor' money as you can, then go home to Texas and enjoy your life. Any chance that he might have had of a career in show business is over. He blew it last night. Making a girl cry on national TV isn't going to get you any work in this town."

PR expert Kelly Brady agreed, telling me, "In one corner you had Jake and in the other you had Vienna. Neither scored a knockout, but both were badly injured. But Jake definitely came off worse."

Miss Brady is not alone in her expert thinking.

Ronn Torossian, owner of 5WPR and the man who shaped the careers of Lil' Kim and Pam Anderson, tells me, "I think neither won the battle-royale at all, but in today's reality driven entertainment show arena, ratings and drama will win, rather than Vienna or Jake. They both spoke ugly of another, both were rude and inconsiderate and I don't think either of them won big points."

Ronn makes a great point. There was a big winner last night and that was ABC. Ratings were through the roof.

It's time we dropped stupid shows like Bachelor and Bachelorette. Anybody who has a "need" to be on such a show is already a loser in life. There are no "fairytales" and there are no "happily ever afters," as a result of self exploitation. That is all these shows are! These shows support the mess our world is in.

All the other girls tried to warn Jake about Vienna long before he chose her. Just glad he woke up & saw her for what she really is before it was to late...

I think Jake did the bachelor not for love but for fame...He needs a lot a work to make it to be a star ....He was not the same person on the bachelor as he was on the interview ....I will not watch anything he is in lost my interest....

i do not think any of you really kept a good ear on jake!he sounded controling,mean,as much as he tried to keep under control,you could see he was mad to the point of no return,yes she was mouthy but he was something strange,would you want your daughter with a man that has 2 faces like him,not me....

Everyone could tell on the show that when he picked her, that it was not a good fit. More like a "Good time not a long time" kind of deal... I think they both are in the wrong... She thinks she is a princess and he needs to grow up. I "undermind" my husband all the time and he just laughs... Thats what seperates the men from the boys in life! So there is my two cents with some change to spare....Back to country life, Have fun in LA.

I never really liked vienna in the bachelor. But seeing how he treats her i really feel bad for her. I'm sure they both had their faults which led to the break up...but this makes him seem like a monster. Gosh you dont treat women like that. Ex or no ex.

The ebtire thing was a set up! Jake already filmed the new "after the Bachelor" Show before the big break up. I can't believe viewers actually believe this stuff to be REALITY! It is simply good telivision!

Jake was always and always will be fake. He never was on that show for love. I feel terrible for Vienna. She was herself the entire season and i think she was the most upfront out of all the girls. Jake screwed her over big time. And not to mention Ali, is a waste of television time on "The Bachelorette". Another fake person. Her and Jake should have got together. They would be perfect for one another. Oh and by the way Jake, Sex and intimacy are VERY important in a relationship. Vienna is a typical women. EVERY women would have insecurities if she were put out infront of the spotlight with a fame hungry man. You and Ali suck! All the drama Ali caused and you make her a Bachelorette. In my opinion, these shows have LOST all credibility with me. The only season that was truly inspiring and beautiful was Trista and Ryan. I hope they make it. They were the best couple to watch. Sweet and genuine.

As much as I didn't really think too much of Vienna in the Bachelor last year I truly felt bad for her last night! I think Jake showed his true colors last night......errogant, fame hungry, male pig and he made me SICK! Your a horrible Actor & Liar!!!

Well we finally got to see the real Jake. Although im not a lover of Vienna,Jake had no answer for the accusations she made and which some had already been proven. Jake showed as always he is full of hisself and thank God now maybe I wont have to ever see him on tv again. Ijust wonder if he would show his hot temper with a man or is it only against women.
