Kelsey Grammer Slams 'Malicious' Father's Day Rumor

Last week, Kelsey Grammer's third wife, Camille Donatacci Grammer, pulled the plug on their 13-year marriage. It was reported by TMZ that the breaking point occurred on Father's Day, when the actor allegedly didn't fly home or call his kids, however, Grammer is now calling that rumor "malicious."

"The truth is I did call my kids that evening," he writes on his website, KelseyLive.com. "Frankly, I was surprised that they did not call me in the morning, but I was thousands of miles away and working that day so I didn't give it a second thought." The couple's two children, Mason, 8, and Jude, 5, are in Los Angeles with Donatacci.

"I called them to see how they were doing as I do almost every night at around the same time, 11 PM my time, 8 PM their time, just before they go to bed," he writes. "Mason had been upset earlier that day because she was missing me. I spoke to her for some time and reassured her that I loved her and that I would be seeing her soon."

"Gossip and the rumor mill always thrive during times like these, as in the Father's Day story. Whatever might be said, I ask that you take the 'high road.' I intend to do the same."

Grammer went on to explain the circumstances of their decision to divorce. "Camille and I had been discussing the possibility of a separation for some time before all this happened. She finally decided she should file. I respect her for this decision ... I hope to have a great partnership with her in the raising of our children."

Donatacci's lawyer filed a divorce petition last Thursday citing "irreconcilable differences," TMZ is reporting.

Donatacci, a 41-year-old former Playboy model and dancer, is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the children. She married the 'Frasier' actor in 1997, a year after they met at a party thrown by MTV.

Dear Kelsey, First of all, your children SHOULD be the ones to call YOU on Father's Day. Shame on their mother for not making them do so. Second, next time, marry someone for love, not looks. Looks fade, but love lasts.

Am a big Kelsey fan. Loved him on Cheers and think the show Fraiser is fantastic, great humor. Calling his kids everynight shows me he loves his children. Whatever problems he and wife have I am sure they will work out for the benefit of the children. I wish them all well.

I've never liked Kelsey Grammar, I totally agree, there is something weird about him. Plus he's not attractive at all, he should be doing more to keep his trophy wives happy. Oh well, there's probably another bimbo waiting in the wings to hook up with him

What can you expect from a woman like her. Maybe a real woman, not one with fake boobs, would understand him better. She was of course one of Hef's girls, it always leaves a little nasty feeling behind and men should think, before marrying a Hef girl.
