I agree with "mikerat". But I'd also like to add, not everyone is parent material. My own father is someone who should have never had children. He thinks he's intitled to all the benefits of parenthood without having put in any of the work. I can't stand people like him!

Fergie is the only one who knows if she would make a good parent.
If she feels she is not parent material then she probably isn't. She's obviously career oriented and materialistic. A child needs nurturing and love and she is not able to offer that at this time.

Choosing not to have kids right now is her choice, but it's a choice she'll regret later for putting her career before children. I know a lot of people choose not to ever have kids, and that's okay for them. ME?!! My husband and I have four, and I couldn't be happier with OUR choice.
I just hope she doesn't wait too late and lives on 'I wish I would have...'

Could Fergie even safely have kids after her admitted years as a meth addict? Doesn't that stuff scramble your genes? Look at the toll it took on her... her body is hot because she spends a lot of time working on her fitness, but without makeup, her face looks like she's in her fifties! Since she wants to continue with her career anyway, maybe she should consider adoption in the future. A lot of stars do that anyway, just look at Angelina, Madonna or Katherine Heigl.

It's nice to see a celebrity not wanting to bring a child into a life style that truly is not conducive to the wellbeing of children. All the separation, nannies, media and the high divorce rates....it's not fair to bring a child into that. Good for her to recognize she's not ready to be a mother.

no it isn't it's self serving and self centered hello the one film she's acted in was packed with Oscar winning stars and her saying those things about not wanting kids is like a back handed slap in the face to both Nicole Kidman & Sophia Loren who struggled in their youth to have children only to succed when they were older which is like calling an abortion and a miscarriage the same thing they both lead to the same end but one can be prevented 9/10 and the other can't most of the time and both leave guilt and heartbreak in their wake just ask anybody that's gone through them the guilt ebbs away but the heartbreak doesn't just ask Sophia who miscarried twice before the birth of her eldest son now 42 of course her autobiography was originally published nearly 30 years ago so it's hard to find now

as usual people start judging someones's entire life by few words they say. In my case, I admire women who know exactly what they want, that are successful and live on their own terms. I already made the choice of not having children, I'm not mother material not because I'm a bad person or have a bad family, but because I have no time for them, clear and simple. Some mothers are ok, some mothers are not, like the ones who have 5 kids and then go and kill them all, have you heard of those? Fergie rules!!!!

Courtney ur such a drama queen, by what you wrote I guess all women should have kids because if not we offend the ones that want them but can't have them??? Am I supposed to feel guilty for the world if I decide not to have children? Are you for real??? How old are you???? If they can't have children they should adopt one or two or three as they wish and go ahead and torture them like Joan Crawford did. As for myself I never wanted and never will, this doesn't mean I'm not capable of loving children with all my heart, just ask my 7 nieces and nephews!!!

I wasn't saying if you know deepdown inside yourself that you don't want children you should have them anyway I was saying that somebody in the public eye shouldn't openly say that because if she turned up pregnant by accident she'd probably abort the baby and feel no remorse for that action later and no I Wasn't trying to be a drama queen at all

my personal favorite actress never wanted children before she met her stepchildren and had children of her own though she did have to go through an emotionally traumatic later term miscarriage on her and her husbands honeymoon in London and by the way she was named after Joan Crawford who was her mothers favorite actress right that would be Joanne Woodward though as she was born down south were short names weren't popular at the time her name was changed from Joan to Joanne and also Crawford on at least one occasion tried to hit on her husband Paul Newman
