Lindsay Lohan Lets Her Fingernail Do the Talking

Just before being
sentenced Tuesday to 90 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation, Lindsay Lohan pleaded with the judge, saying, "I'm not taking this as a joke, it's my life and career. I don't want you to think I don't respect you and your terms."
But the perennially troubled star's hand -- actually her fingernail -- told a different story. Written neatly on the middle finger of her left hand was a crass message, one that doesn't exactly show much "respect" for the court or the judge.

Was her one-finger salute meant for Judge Marsha Revel? We may never know, but given their shared animosity, it's hard to imagine Lohan wouldn't want to send a message in the courtroom.
Lohan may have shown poor judgment in writing such a thing on her nail, but because Revel failed to notice it during the actual hearing, it's highly doubtful she'll get into more trouble for it.
"A finding of contempt of court can be showing disrespect for the judge generally at the time it occurs not after -- or retroactively," attorney, legal expert and author
Vikki Ziegler told PopEater. "It would be very difficult to prove that the nail art was intended for the Judge to be disrespectful at the hearing."
Ziegler noted that while it was inappropriate for Lohan to write the expletive on her nail, "I don't believe it rises to level of contempt as legally defined."
The 'Mean Girls' star was calm and collected in the Beverly Hills courtroom until sentencing, but when the judge handed down her decision, it became abundantly clear the actress was unaware how badly her day would end. She even took to Twitter in the early morning to voice her excitement about a sale on Louis Vuitton bags.
Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by a 90-day in-patient rehab program for violating probation on a previous DUI case. She must surrender to the court on July 20 at 8:30am to begin serving her time.
Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore said many female inmates in Lohan's situation only serve about 25% of their sentence -- which means about 23 days for Lohan.

"I'm not taking this as a joke, it's my life and career" ...... what the hell is she thinking. Everything about this girl is a JOKE!! and if she cared about her LIFE and CAREER she would have stopped all the CRAP and got back on track! What a moron of a girl ....... where is the MOTHER!! It's time to get off the booze and drugs!!!!!!!!

I'm sure that Lindsay will never see the inside of a prison cell just like her bud Paris. It's not fair that these rich, entitled girls can just skate by. Maybe a dose of REALITY would give them a little reality check & they'd try to get their lives together. Lindsay's going down the path of so many before her & hopefully won't be a casuality of her own self loathing.

And the judge said: "No Lindsay, F**k YOU!

Her fingernail art shows her lack of respect for human kind in general. She needs a reality check and an attitude adjustment.

who cares...what a spoiled brat.....so much beauty and talent being wasted.......at the rate she is going......she will probably die before she is 40.
what a shame.

The judge cant see her nails at any point while she's in room. All the pix posted of her in court taken by the paparazzi are from that angle so I'd guess that it's there for them to see. She a 24 yr old woman who had childhood fame, money, Hollywood, drugs & alcohol.. oh look its a modern day, female Danny Bonaduce. With a family like hers, i don't see this ending well for her.

Every pelican death caused by the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico deserves more coverage than this.

What does the journalist mean by "shared animosity" between the judge and Lohan? The judge does not have animosity, she is doing her job.

She got what she deserved finally. If she served the time up front she probably would have gotten 30 days. She is probably addicted to opiates , pot and alcohol and she is going to be freaking out in jail. When she gets out she will probably violate at the rehab and end up in jail again.

OH PLEASE!!
I've got a message for her....
TUFF UP FLUFFY!!
You've got (or had) a career most of us would love to get into, and you messed it up by your own doing.
You should be happy enough to be making movies, but no you can't get a grip on your little life and now you have to pay the price.
Work on getting your life / movie career together and shut the hell up.

Lindsa-what?

How old IS this girl? I honestly don't know the answer to that, so I am actually asking, not trying to be smart. Secondly, why is it that some get ONE YEAR in jail for a repeat DUI and this girl gets 90 days? I don't understand that and I must acknowledge that I now understand why it was that the judge looked at her with so much scorn and venom in her face!

I wonder if that fingernail smells like anchovies.

Truthully the parents are as sad as Lindsey. They all need to grow up. Also as for the people who support such behavior should be jailed for contributing to the downfall of civilization. Hollywood is the prime example of screwed up values.

can't believe her parents are blaming "THE SYSTEM"!!!!! Duh, you're her parents, dumbos !!!
Reply
They are enablers that is why they blame the system and that is why this girl will have to attempt recovery many times before she is successful and then she will always be at risk for falling off the wagon. The parents do not see a problem and neither does the daughter.
