Alec Baldwin Wants to Leave '30 Rock'?

Alec Baldwin may be following in Steve Carrell's footsteps once his contract expires in 2012. During an interview with CNN, Baldwin admitted that he is over show business and would like to lead a more simple life.

"As much as I like acting, I know that I would love to have a different life, a private life. I think doing this now for a living has become really hard. It's really hard," Baldwin said.

"I would rather go do other things and have whatever amount of time I have left in my life [to] have more of a normal life ... I want to find out if it's possible. How close can I get," he added.

Baldwin currently stars as Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom '30 Rock' and is the oldest of the Baldwin brothers working in Hollywood.

Baldwin said he was quitting acting before he even signed onto 30 rock. It's just a renegotiating ploy.

He's good but Tina Fey and Co. are the magicians here, anyone could make anyone funny.

Agreed. Tina Fey makes Baldwin look good, as Kim Basinger did...not that he could ever internalize information like that. And I wish he would retire; his personality gives me the creeps and I'd rather not be exposed to him in any forum.

What is Baldwin still doing in this country, if my memory serves me correctly, he was leaving the country after Bush was re-elected! Hopefully he will take some of his left-wing nuts with him!

Tina Fey and Aec Baldwin are great. But the rest of their ensemble cast is terrible. They overact, they're silly--not funny, and they're a lot creepier than Alec Baldwin will ever be.

Alec Baldwin is so pompous and full of himself in just about everything he does. Anyone who has followed him at all knows he thinks he's better than everybody else in the way he talks to people. His best acting is when once in awhile he actually tries to be a good human being!!!

Quite frankly the show will probably have run its course by 2012 anyway. I like 30 Rock, but two more seasons will be plenty.

Just go Alec! Stop stringing us along with this pompous act. If you don't want to be there just leave. I liked you in 'Beetlejuice' and that's where the love stops.You've had your success and want to spend time with your family then do it. I 'm tired of reading about you are leaving '30 Rock' every 3 to 6 months. Enough already. Bye!!!
