Crystal Bowersox Gets Her Teeth Fixed

'American Idol' runner-up Crystal Bowersox took to her Twitter account to show off her new smile. "What's NOT missing in this picture?????? Yeah. That's right," she wrote. The singer, who was known for her gap-toothed grin, took a trip to the dentist and it appears she couldn't be happier with the results. Her rep tells PEOPLE that Bowersox decided to fix her pearly whites before going on tour.

During the entire season of 'Idol,' she refused to get her teeth fixed. Perhaps she didn't want anything interfering with her singing during the competition.

On the first night of the 'Idol' finale, Bowersox's rendition of Patty Griffin's 'Up to the Mountain' earned raves from the judges. However, she ultimately fell short, and finished the competition in second place. Listen to her new single.

The girl has dreadlocks. Leave her alone. She can still sing better than any contestant that was on American Idol this past season and she was robbed of a win.

she is fine the way she is...her locks make her who she is...its all about being an individual and not about what everyone else wants you to be to be acceptable in this world.

Her teeth do look much better and will add to her appearance since the focus is often on her mouth because she is a singer. Her hair does look unkept and dread locks may make a statement of her individuality but they are bad for the hair. That twisting breaks the hair and when left in that shape so long it does not get cleaned properly. She would look better with a different hair style. It would not take away from her musicial ability in any way.

Why must everyone conform to what others think is normal? Her hair is her look and it makes her unique. I adore Mama Sox and cannot wait to hear her sing her own songs.

I agree D.Ray. Now that she's gotten her teeth fixed she should get rid of that skanky hair. But, between her dreads and her horrible teeth, it may have cost her the win on AI. Very distracting.

Her teeth certainly needed attention if only for health reasons; America's obsession with perfect, air brush features and forms will likely convert Bowersox into something she does not want to be if she allows it. Her hair is a rats nest but it is clean and healthy and very much her. One thing that cannot be faked is her voice which matches her personae well. I look at some of these so called stars and note that many of them should NOT wear the clothes they prance around the stage in. They look like elephants in tights! Leave Bowersox with her own style!

I agree! Crystal has her own unique style and look. She does not need, nor does she want, to look like everybody else. Her hair is interesting; it doesn't need to be "fixed". We have enough plastic look-a-likes in show business.

I think her teeth were just part of her personality and should have been left alone. Of course she probably felt she had to do this to be accepted by this screwed up world and I think it is sad she would bow to that.
Then again, maybe she just did it for herself.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know how clean it is??? Dreads are very dirty and part of getting them is by continually twisting your unwashed hair. They're gross. It's her style and she is an awesome singer. She wasn't robbed of anything. It will be better for Crystal, like it was for Chris Daughtry, not to be under contract with Idol. But the dreads... yuck!

the hair is generally cleaned with water, no soap. that does not make it dirty, but does allow natural oils to exist. if her hair were dirty or smelly, i doubt the the stylists on the show would have kept quiet about it.

Sorry to say it but the teeth and the hair are mostly what kept me from voting for her. She is a good singer but she wasn't the whole package in my opinion.

Her Teeth and Hair doesn't make the singer. I mean she might not be the most Sexiest Woman in the World, but this isn't who looks hotter, it is who can sing and she sings really well. She was better then Lee.

I agree. She did have a great voice, but her looks were disgusting. Just because you can sing is no reason to neglect your personal appearance. Amy Winehouse is another one I can't stand to look at.

Of course, that's why I didn't vote for her. She looked gross with that hair and looked like a hippy. Plus, Lee Dywaze was a "better" singer and in my opinion deserved it more, also Siobhan was better than Crystal if she wouldn't have tried screaming her songs after the first time, which was fitted for THAT song. At least Lee wasn't a street person who was singing on a street corner. They said it on TV that Crystal Bowersucks was singing on the street. Lee DESERVED IT!!!!
