Lindsay Wants $1 Million for First Post-Jail Interview

You can bet Lindsay Lohan will have plenty to say when she's sprung from the joint later this summer, but if you want her for a TV interview you'd better have deep pockets! Sources tell me that deals are already in the works to secure Lindsay's first post-jailhouse chat for a whopping $1 million. You heard right, a cool mil!
"Financially, it's the best thing that could have ever happened to Lindsay," a magazine insider tells me. "It's no secret that Lindsay has been in financial trouble for a while. She will earn more money from her post-prison interview than she ever earned acting."
Lindsay is not the first celebrity to turn her troubles into a cash cow.
The New York Post reported that Paris Hilton was offered a million dollars for her post-prison interview back in June 2007. After a public outcry, however, several media outlets ultimately decided not to pursue Paris, forcing her to give her interview away to CNN's Larry King for free.
Paid interviews, while routine in Europe, are still taboo here in the USA. The way major networks get around this is by engaging in "licensing" deals that provide compensation for the rights to personal material, most often video footage or photos.
Sources tell me that this is exactly the type of arrangement Lindsay is looking for.
"Expect to see a major TV and magazine deal," a source close to Lindsay tells me. "Lindsay might have made a lot of mistakes, but she knows how much her first interview is worth. She won't even consider offers of less than $1 million."
Dan Wakeford, editor-in-chief of Life & Style magazine, explains to me why Lindsay's first interview is worth so much. "It's everyone's primal fear to go to jail or have a child go to jail."
Candace Trunzo, editor-in-chief of Star, believes that the appeal is part of the public's fascination with Lohan. "For better or worse, we're invested in Lindsay. We've watched her self-destruct for years, always anticipating the worst."
However, Michelle Lee, InTouch Weekly's editor-in-chief, warns, "I think her first post-prison interview will get a lot of attention, but it depends how long she actually ends up staying behind bars! At the same time, Lindsay always seems to have an excuse, so it would be interesting to see if she finally tells the full truth."
And what that truth is ultimately worth to Lindsay is far more than $1 million dollars.

She is a useless piece of garbage. She'll be out on the street pimping herself by the time she's 40 for 25 bucks a pop.

Oh,great...now the whole world can ENABLE Ms. Lohan by watching, while her handlers collect their percentages...

Absolutely outrageous and insulting to the public especially in todays troubled economic environment. Shame on the media if they pay for this interview.

Her trip to jail is a win-win for Lohan because it will force her to give up drugs and alcohol. Maybe sobriety will continue after she leaves.

Wow..she can buy a lot of redbull with that kind of dough! Please who even wants to watch her interview? This girl needs help she should be looking for that instead of cash. She really irritates me now.

PRISON!!! No, she is going to the County Jail at the most. Nothing like prison. More sensationalism in what pretends to be news.

Who said crime doesn't pay?
Why would anyone want to read or see her interview? The media makes entirely too much out of celebrities. I mean, who really cares who is doing who or what color underwear they are wearing; and why is it any of their business anyway?

Nobody should reward her for her behavior. She is irresponsible. If she gets a million now, what is to stop her from continuing this behavior until she does some real damage to someone else. I could care less about her, but while on drugs or alcohol she can harm someone else.
If I was the Judge in the case and saw her fingernails, I would have given her another 6 months for contempt of court.

You can't pay me to listen to her interview for a mere Million. ;-)

Glad that she thinks well of herself. Why does she think that people would find her of interest? Will she do the interview between jail and rehab? Too bad that the jail time is consec. That will cut it way down to under even 30 days. What do you bet...private cell, new scrubs, underwear and socks and shoes? Wonder about shampoo and make up and skin creams...horrors, no one to do her hair and make up!!!

It's just not fair!!!!!
The sentence is fair.
Where are the people campaigning for Lindsey's release from her gated country club (I refuse to call it "jail") like they did when Paris Hilton got sent to her gated country club. This is just not fair to poor Little Lindsey The Lush.

Frank you are so right. It will be LA County lock up and she will havae a celeb. cell. Too bad it can't be general pop and that she can't be taught a real lesson. Now if it had been me or one of my daughters that pulled this crap we would be in gen. pop in lockup with no time to arrage our "affairs."

Fame spoils many. She needed parenrs and did not get what she needed (obvious). There are many young people who chose to revolt and, if some cannot, they live through an idol who does it for them. She is beginning to look like she abuses her body. Doubt jail will do anything good for her character. She is unreachable.

I hope she gets her million and maybe we will all get lucky and she will OD on cocaine!!!

WITH ALL THE WONDERFUL STORIES IN THE WORLD ABOUT PEOPLE DOING GOOD FOR EACH OTHER WHO WANTS TO HEAR AND READ ABOUT THSES LOOSERS. THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN TRASH.

You have got to be kidding me! She is going to get "rewarded" for violating her probation by being paid for an after jail interview?? The judge should put that as a stipulation for her ongoing probation...no payment for any kind of press release about her jail time until her probation is over! If she speaks to the press..she goes back to jail!

We could save a lot of tax money if everyone was sent to the same jails That is rich or poor. I can not believe how much the rich get away with and the poor pay the max. I'M surprised that someone like the naacp have not taken that to court the aclu Oh thats right the leaders there are rich too oh well NOOOOOOO justice
