Dina Lohan Says Her Daughter Lindsay 'Is a Fighter'

Dina Lohan is speaking out about her daughter Lindsay's recent jail sentence.

In an exclusive sit-down with Entertainment Tonight, Dina recounts her fears.

"You know, she's strong, but until someone faces something as devastating as that ... we're going to have to see," she says of her daughter.

"She's a fighter, and until the final result -- we're not giving up," she adds.

"I think it's time we get another attorney just to see it from another light and do damage control."

The momager describes how her family is handling it. "It's very difficult. We're not sleeping well, we're not functioning. We cry a lot and we hug a lot. [Lindsay's] petrified, we all are. We're angry. We're disappointed in the system."

Lohan doesn't think her daughter deserves the punishment handed to her stemming from a 2007 DUI incident. "She did a really stupid thing. Thank God she didn't hurt anyone ... I know my daughter is clean and sober today. I know that for a fact. I'm not a doctor ... and I'm not an attorney. I'm a mother. And I'm sitting here, as a mother, just worried about my child."

This chick doesn't get it. With an attitude like hers no wonder LiLo is messed up. I saw Michael Lohan lose it in an interview last night. It is funny watching this family think they are victims! I didn't realize he spent 3 years and again 2 years in prison. Hmmmm... it all is making sense to me now!

dina,the only reason your concerned with her is that you wont have anyone to party with and then pay your bar tab at the end of the night.alot of this is your fault,i know you cant follow your kids around all the time but you should be an example and teach them what they should do or not do and stp partying with her.you have helped destroy lindsey so are you gonna do the same with your other kids so they will do the same things and then just look the other way,but if you keep all this stuff up you will be visiting your other kids in jail too.so wake up and be a parent and not their drinking and druging friends.

lindsay is right. the cops and judicial system is out of control in this country. she's been doing fine her restrictions. that judge wants her name up in lights. so f u to her.

To 'mamaw': Really? This is all so the judge can get her name 'up in lights'? Funny thing, I have no idea what the judges name is....guess the lights are kind of dim. As for Lindsay doing everything she was supposed to have done...did they just miss her when she showed up on schedule? Wonder why she felt she had to apologize for not following the court imposed rules? You and Dina can be best friends!

How can Dina say her daughter is straight and sober??? The test results prove other wise. I think Dina should go to jail WITH her daughter for being in denial and she's just as bad.

mamaw, lets hope you never have kids because your as clueless as Dina. She missed 7 scheduled appointments..., I agree the system needs fixing. She should have been hauled in to jail after missing the first appointment. Our system of justice no longer protects society, but pampers the criminals. We need to take control, and start locking them up and throwing away the key. Only them will we be safe to walk the streets again.

Wow, instead of seeing her daughter for who she really is - a drunk, and drug addict in severe need of help and guidance. Dina Lohan creates more opportunities for her daughters excuses. Maybe Shawn Coleman got sick of hearing the excuses, and did all she could to help Lindsay. The reality of it is the system failed her daughter by not arresting her sooner. Maybe they should arrest Dina for neglect. She probably had F U written on her fingernail when she was at court as well. I hope Judge Revel gives her an additional 30 days for contempt. I also hope Lindsay has to do all 90 days...

Dina: you are a lousy mother. You would best serve your daughters by shutting up and staying out of the limelight. But you can't do that can you? Dina Lohan needs to wake up and smell the coffee. She has to accept responsibility for her screw-ups as a mother and teach her children that they are not above the law. She and Lindsay treated this like a joke. Time to grow up!

I think the fact that mom is stupid enough to actually say that they need an attoney to do damage control, says alot. What that implies is Lohan needs an attorney to "spin" the truth, manipulate the basic facts. They still do not get that they are not above the law and they can't do enough damage control to get out of this one.

Strong? No, strong people aren't addicts. No they are not! She's a Weakling, a piece of a whole person and Dina can't even see that. Lindsey is an immature adult of 24. I was married with two children at that age but Lindsey acts like a school girl. Painting nasty messages on her fingernails in court?! How childish is That? How Stupid? She has NO respect for anyone and somehow things she's above it all. Lindsey has thumbed her nose at the judges from the beginning and she is used to having her own way, why I can't figure out. What pull could a drug addicted woman in a girls body and mind have on any one? She certainly isn't a Hot property, her movies bomb, her with all that squeeking and poping! Cute as a child, really annnoying as a supposed adult. Lindsey need job training and a course in humility. She's just Lost, with an insane Mother.

Dina and Lindsay just don't get it. She is not above the law. Time in the pokey is just what Lindsay needs. Maybe they will get the message, do the crime, do the time. Ali needs to get away from Lindsay or she will be just like her.

They are all the byproduct of the typical Hollywood lifestyle. Kids are usually what their parents allow them to be, and in this case, Lindsey is a junked out, alcoholic, who is RIGHTFULLY going to jail. Does her mother actually think the system failed? They only failed when they didn't put her in jail right away. If it had been a regular person like me, I would have gotten a lot more than the rediculous 25 day she will likley spend. I am sad she won't do more time than she will, and re-hab...P A L E A S E!! What a joke, hasen't she done a stint or two already, look how well that has worked. Her dad is a mess, having spent all kinds of time in jail already, and mom is just riding what little is left of the cash cow. I guess bad parenting here is no surprise...she is just bound to be the next Anna-Nicole.
