John C. McGinley and Wife Welcome Baby Kate

'Scrubs' alum John C. McGinley has a new reason to flash that famous grin: The actor and his wife Nichole welcomed a baby girl to their family! Kate Aleena McGinley was born June 24 in Los Angeles, McGinley confirmed to PEOPLE.

"While bringing Kate into this world, Nichole's grace and strength was the stuff of heroes," says McGinley, 50. "It was truly a miraculous delivery to witness and celebrate!"

Little Kate joins big sister Billie, 2, as well as brother Max, 12, from McGinley's previous marriage to Lauren Lambert.

Nichole, a yoga instructor, said the family was "soaking up the joy and marveling in her beauty."

McGinley and his wife tied the knot in 2007 after two years of dating.

Besides his role as Dr. Cox on the long-running sitcom 'Scrubs,' McGinley has appeared in numerous films such as 'Wall Street,' 'Point Break' and 'Office Space.'

50 is too old to be having kids you selfish bastard. How many wives have to bear your awesome offspring??

All he has to live is 18 more years. He looks like he's in very good condition, so I think he will make it twice or maybe 3 times that long. The Mom is young, so I have no problem with this. Being young when you have children isn't always a plus. It's when your older that you realize how blessed you are to have a child. 50 isn't that old, it's suppose to be the new 40, isn't it?
