Lady Gaga Heats Up the 'Today' Show

Lady Gaga took over Rockefeller Plaza on a hot and humid New York Friday to perform on the 'Today' show for a crowd of an estimated 20,000 people.

The singer started her set with the classic Gershwin ballad 'Someone to Watch Over Me,' wearing an all-white ensemble of pants, a bra and a blazer. With dancers backing her, she took off the jacket and launched into her hit 'Bad Romance.'

Before continuing the performance, the hosts of 'Today' talked to Gaga about the realities of fame and her new music.

"There are certainly things that are difficult to deal with," Gaga said. "But the kind of fame that I cherish is the relationship I have with my fans."

Lucky for her fans, Lady Gaga then performed 'You and I,' a brand new song from her upcoming record. The singer sat alone at her piano to play the soulful rock ballad and climbed atop it for the finale of the song.

After a break, Gaga returned to the stage in a black version of her previous outfit to sing 'Alejandro,' encouraging her "little monsters" to put their hands up. She closed her set with a performance of 'Teeth.'

This girl is nothing more than a (not so great) Madonna wannabe. A few differences between them. Madonna is much more attractive, talented, and has lasted for 30+ years at the top of her game. Gaga is a hot flame (now), but I doubt she will last very long. No originality with her actually.....she's just trying to rehash things that have already been done. In the 80's Gaga would be just another blonde.....been there done that!

Uhhh yea like all those blondes,including Madonna, that played piano...with her foot...and sang live and recovered her gaffs w/o lipsync...in the rain...at 30 Rock..OH yea cause thet didnt do it. Face it...we are 25+ years into lipsync wanna bes we dont know how to handle REAL talent...Look at the expressions and attatude of Meradith and the Today show crew...They were lost

I'm not a big fan of Lady Gaga but I saw her performance on the Today Show and she was Fantastic and she do remind me of Madonna with one big differance, she is a way better singer than Madonna was and is now.

This was a very good performance. I caught the end of it and was really surprised at how good her voice is and how much charisma she has. I thought she was more of a studio-created voice. Nope. Excellent.

so you dont like lady gaga. so what? your not making her paychecks so big deal what you think. i happen to like her. i like everything about her. its much better than the crappy rap you listen to. when i listen to her sing, i feel better. if that makes me a bad person then i dont care. i still will listen to her and buy her music.
