Did Kelsey Grammer Ask Separated Wife to Play It Cool at Tonys?

Though Kelsey Grammer and wife Camille Donatacci split before this year's Tony Awards, he asked her to fly to New York to attend the ceremony and put on a happy marriage face, sources tell the New York Post.

The 'Frasier' star, 55, broke it off with his wife of 13 years last month. "Kelsey was so cold. He told her it was over and he wanted to see other people, but still asked her to be at the Tonys," the Post's source says.

Donatacci, 41, stayed at the London Hotel and held up at public appearances with Grammer, but the actor wouldn't allow her into his apartment or discuss any sort of reconciliation, the paper reports.

Grammer moved to New York earlier this year to star in 'La Cage Aux Folles' on Broadway, but "became more distanced from Camille," the source reports. "He was living the single life."

Donatacci, who is Grammer's third wife, filed a divorce petition in June, citing irreconcilable differences. The former Playboy model and dancer is seeking joint legal and physical custody of her children with Grammer -- 9-year-old daughter Mason and 6-year-old Jude. She married the 'Frasier' actor in 1997, a year after they met at a party thrown by MTV.

Grammer recently wrote on his website that, "Camille and I had been discussing the possibility of a separation for some time before all this happened. She finally decided she should file. I respect her for this decision. I mean her no harm."

Does anyone really care about this idiot ? I havent seen him in anything I liked since Cheers . He is an extra on his best day . He may have a lot of money but who cares ?

Mean her no harm? Who the heck are you kidding here???? Kelsey, you just threw away your longest marriage because...well, just because YOU COULD. When a woman feels her lover is disrespecting her, soon enough she finds out it's because he has found another person to replace her. Forget about who should call whom on father's day. Your response about respecting her wishes means that you forced her to make that decision by your disrespect.

No mention is made here of how his wife wanted the spotlight more on her, how SHE wants to go on the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and he DOES NOT want to be in that. No mention made of the fact that on father's day HE had to call his family to talk to them, when, on that one day in the year, his wife, ex or not, should have made sure the kids called him. A very one sided article me thinks - I'd say they have a 50/50 share in the collapse of this hollyweird marriage!

When he/they decided to have children, years and years ago, and Mrs. Grammer needed a surrogate because she had "irritable bowel syndrome", I thought...oh jeez, he's/she's really hooked on her being "Barbie". Well, Barbie gets older whether you keep her in the box she came in or not. She, lord help her, looks like a blow-up doll. He's such an engaging man on TV, but I think his real life has been a mess. And maybe as he kept losing hair, he needs the youngest partner to make him believe he's as young as he was once upon a time.
