Oksana Grigorieva Is A Top Ten Hollywood 'Lynx': Here Are The Others

Mel Gibson's ex, Oksana Grigorieva, became one of the most famous women in Hollywood as the object of his most recent rant. But she had been on the fringes of fame for some time, having dated two-time James Bond actor Timothy Dalton (and having a son with him) before hooking up with Mel.
Oksana is a familiar type in Hollywood, exemplifying the women (and quite a few men) who use a series of famous partners as stepping-stones to their own notoriety. Because convention demands we give that type some kind of cat nickname, we're going to call her a "Lynx"--as in, her "links" with famous people made her famous herself.
Oksana has earned her place in the top 10 Hollywood Lynxes--and here are nine others to round out the list.
Pictured: Alana Stewart and Rod Stewart
Alana Stewart is the very definition of the Hollywood Lynx. Maybe you've heard of her, maybe you haven't, but everyone around her is famous. Her first marriage to perma-tanned actor George Hamilton begat their son Ashley--more on him later. Her second marriage to rocker Rod Stewart made her the mother of Kimberly (the interchangeable bff of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton) and Sean Stewart, who had a low-level reality TV career with "Sons of Hollywood" and "Celebrity Rehab." Oh, and she was also best friends with Farrah Fawcett, and filmed her cancer documentary, "Farrah's Story." Would-be Lynxes take note: This is your queen.
Pictured: Sylvester Stallone and Angie Everhart
Angie Everhart could be one woman who modeled her Lynx career on Alana Stewart, to the point of marrying her son. Like Alana, she began her professional life as a model, but it would be her romantic liaisons which made her famous. Angie married Ashley Hamilton in 1996, a union that lasted four months. She later dated Howard Stern, and was engaged (but never married to) both Sylvester Stallone and Joe Pesci. Now, she has a baby with an undisclosed father and is
shilling Nutrisystem--not a terrible result for professional arm-candy.
Pictured: Melissa Etheridge and Julie Cypher
Julie Cypher made headlines in 1990 when she left her husband, Lou Diamond Philips, for Melissa Etheridge. She gave birth to two children during that relationship--and like a good Lynx, the sperm donor was also a celebrity, rocker David Crosby. The couple separated in 2000, and in 2004 she married Matthew Hale--ending her run of famous partners.
Alejandra Oaziaza is not a household name, but deserves a special place in the Lynx Hall of Fame. The exotic beauty has two children each with two of Michael Jackson's brothers, first Randy and then Jermaine. This is said to have displeased Jackson family matriarch Katherine, but as the mother of four of her grandchildren, Alejandra retains her place in the family compound.
Pictured: Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow
Mia Farrow is a talented actress in her own right, but for almost 50 years the fuss has been about the man on her arm. In 1966 the androgynous beauty married Frank Sinatra (prompting his previous wife, Ava Gardener, to reportedly quip: "I always knew he'd end up with a boy.") After that marriage ended she hit Lynx gold by hanging out with the Beatles in India, before returning to the US to marry the celebrated maestro Andre Previn in 1970. (The jilted Mrs Dory Previn tells the story of Mia stealing her husband in
this biting song, 'Beware of Young Girls.') It was during that union the couple adopted Soon-Yi Previn, who would prove to be the undoing of her next celebrity coupling, with Woody Allen. Mia is the only entry in our top ten who has been out-Lynxed by her own daughter--which no doubt upset Dory Previn enormously.
Pictured: Cameron Diaz and Paul Sculfor
Paul Sculfor -- lest you think Lynxes can only be women -- leads our male division of the top ten. The former model (sound familiar?) made the leap from the fashion pages to the gossip columns in 2007, when he dated paparazzi-bait Jennifer Aniston. The following year, he dated Cameron Diaz. The attention seems to have been good for his nascent acting career, with film credits on
his IMDb.com page beginning in 2010.
Pictured: Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds
Eddie Fisher, for Hollywood historians, is the godfather of the male Lynx. Of our top ten, the crooner has the biggest claim to fame in his own right, apart from his prominent marriages. But the hydrogen bomb he set off in 1959 by leaving (America's sweetheart!) Debbie Reynolds for the
recently-widowed Elizabeth Taylor sent such shockwaves through Hollywood and the media, he deserves his place in the hall of fame. For extra Lynx-credentials, he had a third reasonably famous wife (the TV actress Connie Stevens) and a very famous daughter,
Carrie Fisher.
Pictured: Uma Thurman and Arki Busson / Flavio Briatore and Heidi Klum
Arki Busson and Flavio Briatore are two European playboys we are going to tie for the final place in the top ten. French financier Busson is the former husband and baby-daddy of Australian supermodel, Elle Macpherson, who is currently
engaged to Uma Thurman. Italian sports investor Briatore was a
longtime boyfriend of Naomi Campbell, is the father of Heidi Klum's first child, Leni, and is now married to Wonderbra model, Elisabetta Gregoraci. While Arki cuts a dashing figure, Flavio suggests that male Lynxes can rely on something other than their looks to attract celebrity girlfriends. If Oksana gets a big enough settlement from Mel Gibson, maybe she'll be able to compete on that front too.

Kudos!!
How about the reverse? A Hollywood type using his/her fame and fortune to go through a succession of lovers? Jennifer Anniston and Kate Hudson!! Every time you pick up the paper they are with
a different guy, and loving the fact that they are talked about and photographed.

People are missing the point about mel gibson- the man is a CHRONIC alchoholic -when you abuse alchohol over the number of years he has you develop something called ORGANIC BRAIN SYNDROME which is characterized by labile mood and uncontrolled rages - Mel Gibson should forget his career and concentrate on saving his life - he needs long term rehab - and FAST

One cannot expect normal relationships, be they marriage, living together, or having children out of wedlock, in wedlock but fathered by someone other than the spouse, in the total dysfunctional environment of Hollywood. Dysfunction IS their lives, it is the reason they ARE, it gives them PURPOSE, and
"earns" them money. SO, dysfunctional lives who get rich from living degenerate and morally bankrupt lives. They transfer their dysfunction to their children, etc, etc.....the circle is never broken.

I don't think of Mia Farrow as a Lynx; she was a child of Hollywood...sort of like Gwen Paltrow.
You have to consider Mia Farrow's parentage:
After all, her mother was Maureen O'Sullivan and starred in 5 Tarzan movies with Johnny Weismuller starting with "Tarzan the Ape Man" in 1932 and ending with "Tarzan's New York Adventure" in 1942. She also starred in "Anna Karenina" in 1935, "Pride and Prejudice", 1940 and even starred in "Peggy Sue Got Married" in 1986.
Mia's father John Farrow was an award winning writer and director. He wrote the screenplay for "Around the World in 80 Days", 1956 & shared an Oscar for this movie in the catagory of "Best Writing, Screenplay-Adaption" (with 2 others) in 1957.
He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Director for "Wake Island", 1942 and has a Star on the Walk of Fame located at 6304 Hollywood Boulevard.
Famous people marry famous people...right?
So, you really can't say Mia Farrow was just some hippy-dippy little chick that became famous for simply marrying Frank Sinatra.
I loved Mia Farrow in "The Great Gatsby" with Robert Redford. She was perfect for the role of Daisy.

I had no idea Mia was such a crumb of a person. Shame on ALL spouse-stealers!!!

You know what irks me. As they play the tapes over and over of Mel Gibson, but you never hear a word from her. Why are they hiding her responses to him? It is true that there are two sides to every story. I think they are just making Mel Gibson out to be a monster because of his notoriety. Nevertheless, they do not play her talking in the tapes. How do we know, she could be the monster. She could be egging him on making him madder. We do not know because they will not play her talking. I was an abused wife and let me tell you they covered up my former spouse’s abuse and he was in the military. The military protect their people and I am just a stupid military spouse they do not have to protect. My former spouse should have been in jail again for abuse. They protect one partner, but never reveal what the other partner’s involvement is. In this case, they only show what Mel is doing and not her. Like I said she maybe angry and egging him on. There are two sides to every story no matter what.

doesn't matter one bit what she said. not one bit.
The question is did Gibson even say these things or is he being convicted because he was drunk a year and a half ago and said anti- Israel/Jewish things? Are the tapes doctored with his cursing and threats lifted from movies? To me, it says a lot about our culture that Gibson could be famous in the first place for playing such despicable roles. However, that doesn't mean he should be destroyed until the tapes are proven to be authentic.
Angie Everhart is getting an unfair rap. She was a famous model before she got witj Stallone. All the models mentioned were famous first - that's why the "celebrity" dated/married them. It enhanced the actor's career.
