Joan Rivers: I'll Pay For Lindsay Lohan's Rehab

Joan Rivers is known and loved for her acerbic wit, but her recent jabs at soon-to-be jailed Lindsay Lohan have entered her into a war of the words with the starlet's former gal pal, DJ Samantha Ronson. Rivers, who authored multiple tweets about Lohan's legal troubles, is now defending her stance on the actress, telling The Insider, "The jokes, my God, were so minor ... I suggest that [Ronson] not worry abut the jokes; worry about Lindsay."

One of the tweets under attack by Ronson was a commentary on Lohan's seemingly disrespectful choice of nail polish, of which Rivers wrote, "Lindsay Lohan had 'F*ck You' painted on her nails. What people don't know is that the judge had 'Eat me you party skank' painted on hers."

Samantha Ronson fired back at the TV host on her Twitter, saying, "Hey Joan Rivers -- you have collagen older than Lindsay, pick on someone your own age, oh wait, I guess people that old can't hear. #bully".

Despite the seemingly mean-spirited nature of her jokes, Rivers claims that she was coming from a place of concern, saying, "People are coming out of the woodwork upset that I did a joke about her. I think they should worry about Lindsay Lohan ... That girl is going to be dead in ten years if somebody doesn't take better care of her."

"If I were Lindsay Lohan's parents, I wouldn't be on television discussing it and I wouldn't be going after Joan Rivers for doing a stupid joke on her blog. I would be taking her into rehab." Rivers, who called Lohan "beautiful and talented" then offered to pay for Lindsay's treatment herself.

However, despite the negative press currently surrounding the actress, it seems as though it may have brought the former couple, whose countless feuds were well documented by the media, closer together. The two were spotted having dinner in Los Angeles over the weekend, the first time the two have been seen in public together in nearly a year. Upon hearing the reports that Lohan and Ronson had reunited, Rivers tweeted, "Samantha, Lindsay ... you're welcome!"

Joan that is sweet of you , but Lindsay has to learn to do things for herself. Meaning knowing when to put her life in order so she can be a productive citizen, instead a waste of space.

The girl needs serious help. She has no talent and so many issues...with no rehab she is dead within 3 years. Sad to say but she really has gotten herself into a bad place. Maybe jail and rehab would save her life.

I understand what you are saying Joan, but Lindsey is a big girl and needs to take responsibility for her own actions. There is consequences for behaviors, whether they are good or bad.

Rivers best keep her money in her pocket. One rehab period will do for a few months before Lohan is back for another. The true words were that Lohan would be dead in ten years if she does not straighten up. That is an unpalatable fact.

Tell Joan Rivers try paying for someone who deserves a chance, a new artist fro example. I have 14 hits in UK in song in genre of R&B and blues and am on Amazon MP3, I tunes etc. But can not continue cause do not have monies to back me. Tell her to contact me, I am registered BMI artist also and own my own label and publishing also.

LOL why is she broke?....why dont you give your money to the people that need it, not the ones that screwed up their OWN LIVES,,,,,,Lindsay's a joke....can we worry more about our countries real problems instead of Lindsay's and Gibson's, and really cares about Angelina's tattoo for Brad for christs sake!

It seems to me that Joan Rivers raised a daughter that has never required jail or rehab. Maybe, just maybe she knows what she is doing unlike Dina or Michael.

Does anyone notice that the insulting rebuttals to Joan are chiefly about "old age" and cosmetic surgeries, and not the SUBSTANCE of what she said?

But it's also true that Lohan needs to "get it" that she has a problem, which will take some time happening since her bubble of illusion seems to be surrounded and double-wrapped with sycophants and enablers. Jail is probably the only means.
