There is no doubt that 'The Hills' has come under scrutiny for whether or not the drama is "real." Well, during the show's series finale, star Kristen Cavallari said her final goodbye to Brody Jenner, as the cameras slowly panned out to show all the cameras, mics and crew it takes to shoot one scene of the MTV reality show. After 102 installments, 'The Hills' faded into the sunset and said goodbye in 'Truman Show' style -- showing it takes a lot of work to make reality.Jenner was excited for fans to finally see the surprise ending. "That day of filming it was surreal to me because they wouldn't tell me what we were filming," he told MTV. "I think the show has always battled with what's real and what's fake, and this ending was perfect because you still don't know what was real, what was fake and it's kind of like LA in a sense. I thought it was very clever and I was happy with it. I was stoked they were ending it with me. I was flattered."
So what was actually real on the show? Jenner won't tell anyone. "I would say it's entertainment and just enjoy it; don't question it too much. There were a lot of moments that were real and a lot of moments that were not so real."
The show premiered back in 2006 and followed Lauren Conrad as she made her move from Laguna Beach to Los Angeles to pursue a career in fashion. But in the middle of seasons 5, Conrad left the series and Cavallari took over as star of the show.
Cavallari told E! News that she wants to move on. "I am so happy it's over," she said.

Anyone who thinks any of this show was real is a brain dead moron and should be sterilized.

Agreed.
You mean to tell me that people thought this show was real!? What idiots!

THANK GOD IT OVER ! NO MORE HEIDI & SPENCER!

You can tell its not real just by the way they all interact with eachother. The way the conversations are structured.

Anyone that can watch this show for more than 2 minutes is retarded to begin with, so it shouldnt be shocking that some people thought it was real.

I watched about five minutes of this "show" early on, but found it absolutely unwatchable. Real, faked, whatever -- it was just plain old-fashioned lousy!!

I always knew deep down that this show was fake. I mean the fights they had with people, and how they got over it in a day?
The show seemed especially fake when Kristin took over. It was just weird how they kept Laurans "so called" friends in the new season and Kristin hungout with them!
I'm sad it's over just because I grew up watching Laguna, but to be honest i'm happy it's over too. Watching rich snotty people on tv is really not how I want to spend my time anymore..

Wait the show was fake? No!Of course it was all fake.Like these people really just happen to be at the same at the same time every time the cameras are around.Like anybody has that much drama going on in there lives at one point in time. And the cameras just happen to catch it all.If you believed this show was real.Your the idiot.

I think that at first, the saga of it at, Laguna Beach, was real. I think their lives and the way they moved on throughout the Hills was real, but the drama and everything else was fake. They are actors. It's their job to create drama and an entertaining experience for television-viewers. I liked the show but it doesn't mean I'm a brain-dead idiot.
