Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry in Motorcycle Accident

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle in Middleborough, Massachusetts yesterday, the Associated Press reports. The legendary musician was taken to a Massachusetts hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Authorities say Perry was riding his 2009 Ducati Monster 696 near his Duxbury, Massachusetts home on Thursday afternoon when he was hit from behind by a car. The driver, 62-year-old Linda O'Brien, wasn't injured. Both were apparently driving at low speeds.

Perry, 59, was treated at Morton Hospital and Medical Center and released a couple of hours later, Rolling Stone reports. A hospital spokesperson did not reveal the nature of his injuries. Aerosmith's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, told the Boston Globe, "Joe is home and he's fine. All's well and we're all grateful."

The guitarist was found fault free in the accident while O'Brien was charged with following too closely.

Perry and the rest of the band will kick off their upcoming 'Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock' tour on August 14 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

Glad he's okay. The headline scared me.

I love 1970s hard-rock bands. Anyone notice that '70s bands are still around and packing arenas? Can't say that for a lot of '80s bands. Born in the mid-'60s, so I grew up listening to Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS, Nugent, etc. Ever notice that whatever music people grew up listening to is always the best?!

I'm surprised any of them are alive.. years ago I saw them climbing down an old ricty wooden ladder on the outside of the tallest stage in Hollywood, _now Sony_ no rest bar _ a dark 3, 4 am and a good 100 foot drop... they were F nuts!
