Canadian Officials Ban Pamela Anderson's PETA Ad

Pamela Anderson's curvy figure is grabbing headlines again, but this time, it's not her little red swimsuit that's making waves. The actress' latest campaign for PETA, in which she appears clad only in a bikini with her body parts labeled as cuts of meat, was banned in her homeland of Canada, with officials deeming the ad sexist.

The actress flew to Montreal to reveal the ad, which reads,"All Animals Have the Same Parts", only to find that she had been banned by city officials from hosting her planned pro-vegetarian event.

In a statement released to UsMagazine.com, Anderson wrote, "In a city that is known for its exotic dancing and for being progressive and edgy, how sad that woman could be banned from using her own body in a political protest over the suffering of cows and chickens. In some parts of the world, women are forced to cover their whole bodies with burqas -- is that next? I didn't think that Canada would be so puritanical."

A Montreal official responded to Anderson's criticism, saying, "It is not so much controversial, as it goes against all principles public organisations are fighting for in the everlasting battle between men and women."

Dan Matthews, senior vice president of PETA, said, "I think that city officials are confusing 'sexy' with 'sexist'."

they banned the add because the meat industry bought out the politician in Canada, that is why it was banned and not because of her body. Corporation are running the world today, we as a consumer should stand up and stopping buying till they change their ways, we should remember without us they can sale their rotten products. Consumer needs to learn that they have the power and not the food industry.

So has it occured to you that A. Chickens do not have rump roasts, and B. Cows don't have breasts? So...basically whats the point of this ad? People most certainly do not have wings or hooves.

I've never heard of PETA before so I looked up more of their ads...all I know is that I'll never support anything whose ads only show naked people. Not one ad has anything but either a naked woman or man in some pose (mostly women). It's disgusting. If this is how America is turning out, that the only way to gain support for something is to include some kind of sexual image or saying, then America has really gone down the drain. Pathetic.

We are all animals, that is obvious. All creatures are meant to be naked, we're just hairless apes. Who cares about nudity when lives are at stake? Meat is murder. Eating corpses is disgusting.
