An ex-con pit bull-rescuing little person running an entertainment company with his own television show -- now that's not something you see everyday.

But it's exactly the premise of Shorty Rossi's show, 'Pit Boss.' Fighting to overcome stereotypes about both pit bulls and little people, Shorty and his crew aim to prevent cruelty toward pit bulls through education and activism in their community.

"What I like about ['Pit Boss'] is it shows we're not just Matt Roloff family," says Shorty. "You've got 'Little People, Big World,' I consider that the Ozzie and Harriet family. Then you got 'Pit Boss.' That's Roseanne Conner family!'

Roloff family beware, Shorty and crew are kicking off a brand new season July 17 at 10PM ET.

Shorty sat down with PopEater to talk about pit bulls that fly first class and how he feels about about the other little people on TV. Watch the video after the jump!
