Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized After Bone-Breaking Fall

Zsa Zsa Gabor, Hungarian actress and socialite for the ages, was hospitalized Saturday after she fell out of bed and broke several bones, the LA Times reports. The 93-year-old was listed in serious condition at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Gabor was watching TV in her home in Bel-Air, California when she fell, publicist John Blanchette said. Gabor has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident -- Blanchette describes her as "pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years."

"She's fragile, but she's still very bright -- she still makes me laugh," Blanchette said of recent visits with Gabor. "Her faculties are intact, but her body's failing her."

Blanchette said he received a call from Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, at around 8 p.m. Saturday night with news that Gabor had fallen and taken an ambulance to UCLA.

"He said it was bad, she had broken several bones," Blanchette said of von Anhalt's call.

"My wife is a fighter," von Anhalt told TMZ. "She will be okay."

The New York Times refers to Gabor as "the prototypical 'professional celebrity': famous merely for being famous." Prototypical indeed -- who can't name one or five of those types today? Get well soon, Zsa Zsa...

I'm sorry to heat that Zsa Zsa Garbor, 93, has been hospitalized after a horrible Bone-Breaking Fall, I wish her a speedy recovery from her injuries! Also, I totally understand why WWE Raw isn't having as Many Guest Hosts as it used to be!

ZSA ZSA GABOR WAS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITES! I HOPE SHE IS DOING WELL AND RECOVERS AND HAS NO PHYSICAL PAIN. ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES SHE EVER DID WAS, "MOULIN ROUGUE" WITH JOSE FERRER. SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SO GOOD IN THAT MOVIE. YEAH, SHE WAS MORE OF A PERSONALITY, BUT HEY....NOT A DRUG ADDICT, NOT AN ALCOHOLIC,DID NOT GIVE A BAD IMAGE TO SHOW BUSINESS. JUST A REALLY INTERESTING AND GLAMOROUS STAR OF WHAT FANTASY WAS ALL ABOUT. HER SISTER EVA GABOR WAS ALSO WONDERFUL. SHE LIVES A LONG LIFE BECAUSE SHE HAS A LOT TO GIVE!

At least Zsa Zsa had a sustantial movie career. Today's "professional celebrities" have never done anything as a professional, namely the Kardashians and the Gosselins. No-talent nobodies making a lot of money for doing NOTHING.

Just doesn't seem right that she is that old. This is the 1st time I can recall seeing her husband mentioned. God bless her and her family. Breaking bones at this age is not good.

Zsa Zsa is one of a kind! Love her! Tried to be her for Halloween the year she slapped the cop. 1989/1990//1991? Priceless! Won first prize! Zsa Zsa will always be number one with me. She is gorgeous, talented, funny and doesn't take herself too seriously. It's sad that she has that idiot husband taking care of her. Zsa Zsa - wishing you a speedy recovery!

I looked up info on the husband. He was born in 1945(young man). Lots of interesting info on him. His and Zsa Zsa's marriage has been her longest marriage. Some sites say her 9th marriage, some say her 8th, as one marriage was annulled(when she was still married to someone else).

I have always loved Zsa Zsa. Her way of speaking always makes me laugh. I didn't realize she was that old. This is terrible. Broken bones at this age aren't ever good. I hope she can recover from them.

I don't trust her husband. What was that all about when he claimed to be the father of what's her faces' baby? He's a worthless man with a self-proclaimed title! More like, "Prince Albert In A Can!"

Goodness, I didn't know she was still around, either. Certainly wish her a speedy recovery. Regarding her demeanor & career, I remember my grandmother was never a Zsa Zsa fan, saying she was spoiled and bratty (what we'd now call a Diva.) Instead she ADORED her sister, Eva, who she observed was quite the opposite.
