Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized After Bone-Breaking Fall

Zsa Zsa Gabor, Hungarian actress and socialite for the ages, was hospitalized Saturday after she fell out of bed and broke several bones, the LA Times reports. The 93-year-old was listed in serious condition at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Gabor was watching TV in her home in Bel-Air, California when she fell, publicist John Blanchette said. Gabor has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident -- Blanchette describes her as "pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years."

"She's fragile, but she's still very bright -- she still makes me laugh," Blanchette said of recent visits with Gabor. "Her faculties are intact, but her body's failing her."

Blanchette said he received a call from Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, at around 8 p.m. Saturday night with news that Gabor had fallen and taken an ambulance to UCLA.

"He said it was bad, she had broken several bones," Blanchette said of von Anhalt's call.

"My wife is a fighter," von Anhalt told TMZ. "She will be okay."

The New York Times refers to Gabor as "the prototypical 'professional celebrity': famous merely for being famous." Prototypical indeed -- who can't name one or five of those types today? Get well soon, Zsa Zsa...

Wow there are some Bitter people around!!!!!! Can't we all just get along??Sure she had some problems with the LAW and stuff, but what famous person hasn't?? And hey at 93 and still in control of her MIND. WOW, Because I kinda thought she was DEAD al-ready. So I wish her well and a speedy recoverey, And before all you STUPID People make fun of PETTICOAT JUNCTION, Do your RESEARCH, IT WAS EVA GABOR that starred on that!!!!!So unless you know don't make yourselfs more STUPID than you already are.

Tara Green: You are misinformed. The Gabor sisters are: Zsa Zsa, Eva, and Ava! My cousin worked for Ava in New York, and knows them all well. There may have been another one, or that was their mothers name. Merv Griffin was very close to Ava, and my cousin visited them on Paradise Island, Bahamas.

There was no Ava. It was Magda, Eva and Zsa Zsa. Eva Gabor married Merv Griffin I believe.

And I think the reality of this is not a good prognosis.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say about the birth order of the Gabor sisters: Magda (1914-1997) - Zsa Zsa (1917-2010) - and
Eva (1919-1995) - I don't know why Zsa Zsa is listed as being dead in 2010, but I'm sure it's not far away for her - poor dear!
