It's official, folks: Justin Bieber has toppled Lady Gaga in the knock-down drag-out fight for most-viewed YouTube video of all time. The teen singer's saccharin hit 'Baby' has been seen 250.7 million times as of Monday morning, clearly surpassing Gaga's 'Bad Romance' and its 247.6 million streams.
Upon hearing of his conquest, Bieber took to Twitter to thank his legion of fans for watching the video, which co-stars Ludacris, so many frickin' times. He was signed two years ago after posting videos on the popular site."I started on YouTube so the support ... well I just need to say thank u."
Being the Biebs and all, the singer was gracious in triumph over his fellow pop star.
"I just need to say that @ladygaga is an incredible artist who [I] have great respect 4. And her vid is incredible, so it doesnt matter who has more views, what matters is that we have incredible fans that support us. That I'm sure we are both greatful 4."
Of course, YouTube supremacy wasn't built in a day -- Bieber's "Baby" debuted back on February 19th and spent five months fighting tooth-and-nail past party anthems from Pitbull and Miley Cyrus, laughing babies and well, more laughing babies. And five months appears to be the key to success in this arena. Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" premiered on November 10, 2009, taking the YouTube crown five months later this April for three months of uncontested, Bieber-less bliss.
Of course, Lady Gaga fans aren't taking this development sitting down. Armies of "little monsters" are rallying up and refreshing "Bad Romance" in their browsers while leaving encouraging comments like, "much better than justin boober's" (hey, we never said they were eloquent).
So do any of these videos have staying power? Obviously, the "most viewed of all time" landscape seems to be pretty fickle with many of the surrounding videos being already-been-chewed bubble gum pop fare of the past year or so. It's likely that whoever the next-big-thing is in the coming years will bump out Bieber and Gaga with no trouble at all.
Lost in the shuffle in this race of pop titans is the third most popular video of all time, the glorious "Charlie bit my finger - again!" which has racked up over 211 million views since being uploaded in 2007. Check out Charlie and the rest of the current Top 5 below:

Evolution of Dance - By Judson Laipply
And lastly, Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A." which oddly enough is disabled from embedding (seems like she never stood a chance to earn that #1 spot).
This is what the music industry has been widdled down to? YouTube views? Though I was kinda hoping they would be forced to fight to the death for the title. I think that would have been a win win for all of us.
This one clearly falls under the "who gives a sh!t" category.
And don't do that infantile "why did you post then?" thing. It just makes you look petty and stupid. I read the article and decided I don't really care.
So why DID you bother to do more than skim the heading and move on. Maybe because who had the most watched video was interesting and you just didn't like the answer.
Here's a consolation prize for Gaga. Her video is one minute, twenty three seconds longer. That means people have spent sixty three thousand, five hundred fifty five more hours watching her.
They would both WIN BIG if they made a video together, Say, LIKE, Justin would hide under Lady Gagas gown then jump out half way through the number-then sing about what he saw undercover??
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

Yes, had they both died in the battle we would all be much better off.
