Will Robyn (and Australia) Take Mel Gibson Back?

Mel Gibson has made some huge mistakes lately but nothing compares to the biggest mistake of his life: letting Robyn Gibson, his wife of nearly 30 years, go. Now the troubled star will do whatever it takes to win her back including moving his entire family back home to Australia.

"Meeting Oksana Grigorieva and leaving his wife was the biggest mistake of Mel's life," a friend of the actor tells me. "Robyn and the seven children they have together are heartbroken to see what has happened to him. Seeing the man they know as a husband and father being portrayed as a monster is very painful and not the man they thought they knew. However, neither is the man who would walk about from them for a younger Russian gold digger."

Mel and his wife split in April 2009 when Oksana became pregnant with his child. Mel and Robyn continue to speak regularly and raise their children as a team but that doesn't mean Robyn will ever be able to forgive him and take him back.

Robyn's declaration to an LA judge last week stating that her ex husband had never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward her before, during or after their marriage, may have given Mel the wrong signal. I'm told he is now convinced he has a second chance and begging Robyn to take him back.

"Mel didn't ask Robyn for the affidavit and wept when he found out about she had done for him. He just wants his life to return to normal. Before he ever met that woman," an insider tells me. "He knows his Hollywood career is over. Now he just wants to return to Australia with his ex wife and children. Buy a ranch in the outback and live the rest of his life out of the spotlight."

The only problem is I'm not sure Australia or Robyn wants him anymore! What do you think?

Why should Mel move to Australia? He was born in the US. He is a US Citizen. Why doesn't everyone just mind their own business. Why does everyone feel they are judge and jury over Hollywood. Does it really matter to any one of us?

mel is not sick.Why would he be sick.everybody gets hurt.He was taken for a ride and left his guard down.There is always a woman or man out there to take u, cause most people are greedy.I admire his wife helping him, she still sees the good in him, but it will take time to heal what happened, but there is always hope

I'm sure he could probably beat up a woman and call her all kinds of words - but you love him as an actor...send the treehuggers to HELL though. :rolls eyes so far into back of head it hurts: Disgusting.

Mel Gibson was born in New York and Cleveland is not a Crap Hole. I was just there. There is a lot to see and do in Cleveland. There are goo and bad parts to every city. I have seen them all over the world.

Sometimes as the old saying: "You don't know what you've got untill you lose it. 30 yrs. experience with his exwife he knows and so does she what they are up against. There is nothing like your real family and kids. Some good possibilities here.

I'm very tired of all the attention given to Mel Gibson's "problems". The man is a gifted film actor and director, a millionaire many times over, blessed with a supportive and loving family (despite his selfish act of walking out on them to be with another woman), and he has access to any kind of psychotherapy and substance abuse program he may want (and unlike most of us, he can afford to spend weeks or months living at facilities that treat such problems). Please tell me why so many people seem to feel sorry for the man. Are any of you having marital/relationship problems of your own? Are any of you faced with financial difficulties (unlike Gibson) as you struggle to make ends meet with an average work salary? Are any of you going around spewing racial, ethnic, religious and homophobic slurs and being given pity for that behavior? I just can't find any reason to feel sorry for Gibson. I'll give my pity and prayers to his ex-wife and children.

Forgiveness is the greatest gift. Everyone makes mistakes.
That Russian woman needs to search her "own" soul, before she goes attacting Gibson. Yes, he seems to have pleny of Demon's also, but he deals with them in making some of the best films out there. It's pretty strange that the Russsian said he "hit" her, when his wife of how many years? Said he never raised a hand to her? Think this one over people - Gold diggers going no-where always want what isn't theirs.

I believe Mel made a huge mistake leaving his wife and I believe he realizes that now. I honestly hope Robyn takes him back. Where he decides to live is up to him but he does not need to be judged by anyone because we all screw up. No one is perfect. I do believe he probably needs to get help for his problem with alcohol.

Just because the media reports things the way they do does not mean all Americans hate him. Everyone makes mistakes. Mel needs some help and if his wife Robyn and family are willing to give him that chance I hope it works out for him.

I am still a big fan of Mel's. Everyone makes mistakes, and nobody knows everything that goes on in people's lives. I think that girl set him up! She is a golddigger, remember she has a son with another actor too! Hello girl! Take some birth control! And by the way, she says she had no idea who recorded those calls from Mel or who released them! PLEASE!!! SHE DID! She is a bee-otch and Mel your better off without her! Mel is a talented man, love his movies, always have, always will. If he does read this, don't move away Mel! You still have fans out there who support you. Take time to regroup, maybe reconcile with Robyn and get some help. You will be back on track!

Mel is supposed to have a cash flow problem. He probably would like to get back to his wife and the money she got from the divorce...that would make him a gold digger!
