'Heroes' Actress Ali Larter Is Pregnant

'Heroes' star Ali Larter and husband Hayes MacArthur are expecting a baby, PEOPLE reports. "Ali and Hayes are thrilled to be expecting their first child," her rep told the magazine. The baby is due this winter.

"Ali is ecstatic. She and Hayes are absolutely over the moon about it. They have wanted a baby for what seems like forever and now their dream is coming true," a family friend told Star.

The friend adds, "It's going to be even more special because their baby is due on Christmas Day! They don't know what sex it is yet but Ali is definitely planning on finding out - hopefully at her next doctors visit!"

Larter and MacArthur wed last August in Maine after meeting several years earlier on the set of 'National Lampoon's Homo Erectus.'

"I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we could do it tomorrow," Larter told Cosmopolitan in 2007 before they got engaged. "I look forward to that time when I'm home with babies."

Larter recently chatted with PopEater about the United Nations Women Deliver conference she attended. "The conference started off with Ban Ki-moon, the secretary-general of the UN, and he was just a gentle warrior. One of the main things for him was that every woman has a right to give birth without fear of losing her own [life]. I thought it was such a poetic and startling phrase," she said.

"It was really about learning more -- like that there are over 200 million women around the world who want access to birth control and family planning but don't have it."
