Jennifer Aniston Receives Restraining Order Against Accused Stalker

A man accused of stalking Jennifer Aniston must stay at least 100 yards from the actress' home and place of work, TMZ is reporting.

Police found 24-year-old Jason Peyton "laying-in-wait in a location he believes she frequents with a sharp object, a bag, a roll of duct tape and written messages about [Aniston]," on July 15 and arrested him, according to court documents.

The 'Bounty Hunter' star's lawyers claim Peyton drove cross country for eight days with 'I Love You Jennifer Aniston' carved into his car.

The legal papers describe Peyton as "an obsessed, mentally ill and delusional stalker -- with a history of violence and criminal stalking -- who drove cross-country in his delusional 'mission' to locate and marry [Aniston], with whom he believes he is in a relationship."

He has since been placed on 5150 psychiatric hold. Part of Peyton's violent past is stabbing himself, and hitting his mother with a golf club. He has also been institutionalized before.

I cannot believe that this person is not in jail for hitting his mother! If he was jailed it wasn't for long enough. I feel badly for anyone, male/female famous or not, that have to deal with this kind of thing on a daily basis. Sadly, it seems to me, that until the person being stalked is seriously hurt or killed, then the courts do what they should have done a long time ago. If, God forbid, she was a judges daughter, this guy would have been put away for a very long time. I do not care about his mental state-he has already proven himself to be violent. He needs to be placed somewhere for the rest of his life so he cannot hurt anyone else. A restraining order is a joke which has been proven time and time again. How many people with restraining orders have to die before the justice system does the right thing?

This is why I'm so against the media for posting everything about these stars. Yeah they are in the public eye but there are too many nuts out there. Look at what happen to John Lennon. And yes that Rebecca Shaffer. I think the photographers should be charged with stalking too. Even though they say it's their job. I don't feel it's their job to stalk them. This is another reason why Sean Penn and Alex Balwin go off on photographers can you blame them?
