On Eve of Jail, Shapiro Out as Lindsay Lohan's Lawyer

Lindsay Lohan will report to jail on Tuesday, but it's not entirely clear who will be her legal representation. Celebrity lawyer Robert Shapiro reportedly quit the star's legal team on Monday, TMZ is reporting, leaving it unclear if Lohan will simply be representing herself when she surrenders to Judge Marsha Revel to begin her 90-day sentence.

Sources close to Lohan have told RadarOnline.com that Shawn Chapman Holley, the star's lawyer at the time of sentencing, has reconsidered and will be by her side just like old times. Chapman Holley didn't sign the substitution of attorney form last week, meaning she is still technically Lohan's counsel. TMZ is reporting that Chapman Holley will be in court

"Shawn never really left, Bob had been there guiding us," a source told Radar. "He was great, but he was just consulting, that's all he ever was."

But Shapiro, who successfully defended O.J. Simpson in his murder trial, announced last week that he was indeed Lohan's new attorney, and that he was determined to help Lohan stay sober and complete all the terms of her sentencing.

"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with," added Shapiro, whose son died of a drug overdose in 2005. "Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan's long term recovery and sobriety."

Meanwhile, Lohan is said to be in good spirits as she awaits her time behind bars -- which will amount to about three weeks. The 'Mean Girls' actress joked on Twitter late Monday that, "The only 'bookings' that I'm familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that I'd be 'booking' into jail ... eeeks."

I think the hate toward Mel Gibson is insanity. Even Mel's former wife stood up for him and said he never raised a hand to her. This girlfriend of his is a ho and a low life to do to him what she's doing. The reason he's so upset is because he cares about her and she's using that caring to jerk his chain every which way she can! She knows nothing of love......only how to TAKE and Destroy.

Anniston,........I'll never go see her nude, sex movies. We tend to avoid them. It's just porn....and that's available on the net. I enjoy good movies that make you feel good after you leave....like the first movie of the Pirates of the Carib or the A-Team, which was so very good.....or IRONMAN.....that was really good to watch. I enjoyed those movies. More and more persons are getting sick of the bed, sex scenes..........they are everywhere and bore a person to death unless you're a sex-fiend or have mental probs.

Good grief, it's another Gibson apologist who has suddenly lost their hearing. Are you denying that Gibson said the garbage that got him on the front covers of the rags?
