Britney Spears Has a Very Bad Hair Day

Britney Spears was all smiles as she went shopping in Sherman Oaks, California yesterday. Her peach tank top, khaki shorts and short brown boots looked super cute as she browsed. But when she revealed the back of her head as she turned to leave, onlookers were shocked by what they saw.

The pop star had a large, grapefruit-sized spot on the back of her head covered with dark, matted, short hair; quite a contrast to the long blond locks covering the rest of her head. And unfortunately for her, photographers got a picture of the unruly mess.

Spears is still in the process of growing out her locks after shaving her head three and a half years ago. She's been getting extensions since and the harsh process isn't known for being kind to hair.

While we're pulling for Britney and think she's been doing well recently, these types of photos don't help with her overall image. . It's a little surprising she'd go out in public with her hair in that state. Throw on a hat or tie up your hair if you're between salon appointments, Brit! You're making such progress--don't let a bad hair day derail you.

Right on, Gail. (I think they select their writers from a pool of junior high school girls.) I saw a magazine cover photo of Britney Spears the other day and boy has she aged...for the better! She looked fantastic.

My view of the media/paparazzi was forever damaged when I saw how they stalked her--a young woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Her behavior was bizarre but that's usually the case when someone is having mental health issues. Disgrace.

And hats off to....LADY GAGA! Ever since she came on the scene, the focus seemed to shift from Britney overload to the GAGA gaga.

Her hair probably is longer, but they attach the extensions at the scalp. Duh. That way your natural hair and extensions can kinda blend together. That being said, she needs some better extensions. I personally liked whatever Miley Cyrus was wearing.

Just curious, what type of treatment did your daughter receive for that? Did the hair grow back?
I have heard extentions are very damaging to the hair.

If her hair is not growing after 3 1/2 years, then stop putting extensions in your hair. Duh.

It is possible that she was riding in a convertible with the top down to get that look but that is oil you are seeing in her hair,its dirty.
