'Jersey Shore' Stars Get Big Raise, End Strike

After a reported strike over payment issues, the cast of 'Jersey Shore' has ironed out contractual issues and will fist-pump their way into production on season 3 this week.
"MTV is pleased that the 'Jersey Shore' cast are returning to Seaside Heights," the network wrote in a statement. "Not only have they become a part of the MTV family, but fans worldwide have fallen in love with them."
Most reports hint that the cast will earn $30,000 per episode. Mike "
The Situation" Sorrentino
led the strike-ending charge by signing for what
TMZ reports as "anywhere between $27,500 to $45,000 per episode." Not too shabby, considering their per-episode pay was $10,000 for season 2 and just $5,000 for the first season.
"Mike decided in order to get season 3 done he was going to have to lead the pack and wants to encourage the rest of his cast to follow his lead," The Situation's manager said.
The full cast will return, with the exception of Angelina Pivarnick. A source tells
PEOPLE her departure was "a personal
choice. She never clicked with the cast and didn't want to return to Seaside Heights."
JWOWW has refuted speculation about any strike: "That is by far a very untrue rumor. You have to laugh at crazy reports like that. Stories about strikes and things make us all laugh," J-WOWW
tells Steppin' Out magazine, failing to address talk of a pay raise. "When the rumor first came out, I actually had no idea what it was all about. None of it was true. Nobody ever talked about going on strike."

This is a reality show. They shouldn't even be on TV. To strike for and get raises is beyond ridiculous. If we can't put an outright ban on reality shows, at least put them on a seperate channel. Each reality show that hits the air is just another 30 or 60 minutes of air time that's wasted.

I hope 'The Situation' uses his raise to get a nose job. BTW, nobody who grea up at the Jersey shore acts like this

These NJ jerks are NOT stars--they are muscled between their legs not in the head. I knew them well when I summered at the Jersey shore 40 years ago...today those I knew work in Walmart, are FAT, have fat wives and jerk kids like those on the TV today. What a life! What a furure!

They aren't from NJ. Only one cast member is from NJ. The rest of the cast is from NY and R.I. People from Jersey do not act like they do. The bennies who visit the shore during the summer do.
That money still isn't enough for Shnookie to buy all the makeup she needs as well as the hooker outfits. It costs a lot of money to look that cheap.
And it certainly isn't enough money for all of the plastic surgery that The Constipation needs to fix that ugly mug.

What a waste of money. People like this should not even be on TV. This is one of the reasons I have been doing much more reading lately. The quality of "stuff" on TV has really gotten so bad. I think the writers and producers are all snorting and smoking something!

The charm of the show was that they were nobodies and typical. Now they are not and with an unimployment rate of 10% the boardwalk is loaded with nobodies who would work for less money and atitude. I dont blame them, I blame the producers so I dont want to hear them say their expenses are toooo high.

They are NOT from NJ, tyvm.

These people have to cause shame thier family. Surely the behavior, fake tans, bad hair, foul language and fighting like mongrels has thier ancestors rolling in thier graves. People only watch this in order to feel better about thier own poor behavior. They all need a year inpatient manners therapy and should have been disciplined as children.

I thought that they were going to get pay raises and that they would be a season 3. The show is very entertaining and funny as well.
