Lindsay Lohan's Jail Stint Knocked Down to 12 Days

If she behaves herself and jails remain overcrowded, Lindsay Lohan will only have to spend 12-13 days behind bars for violating her probation from previous drug and alcohol arrests, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said on Tuesday. It's a big break for Lohan, who was given 90 days by a judge and was initially expected to serve about 23 days of that sentence.
Steve Whitmore told reporters that nonviolent female inmates generally serve about 25 percent of their sentence, principally because of overcrowding in the jail system. He indicated to
PEOPLE that Lohan would likely be released from Century Regional Detention Facility either August 1 or 2.
At Tuesday's hearing, Beverly Hills Judge Marsha Revel ordered that Lohan must not be released to house arrest or electronic monitoring and also slashed the 24-year-old's transition time between jail and her 90-day rehab stint from 48 to 24 hours.
"She's scared as anyone would be," Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, told the press on Tuesday. "But she's resolute and she's doing it."
Lohan was sentenced July 6 to 90 days in jail and a 90-day inpatient rehabilitation program for violating probation on an old DUI and drug case. For the next 13 days, she'll live in a 12-by-8 cell in the famed facility, which has also housed Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Khloe Kardashian and 'Lost' alum Michelle Rodriguez.
The actress may even bump into E! reality star Alexis Neiers, who is currently serving a 180-day sentence for felony burglary of Orlando Bloom's home. Neiers is also believed to have been in involved in a break-in at Lohan's house.

Yet another travesty of justice. Kudos to all those who made this possible. Her parents (wolves in the wild fare better than the progeny of these two creatures)! Judge Revel (all talk, was it for the publicity Your Honor?)!! The Justice/Penal system (which obviously has the power to over-ride orders of a sentancing judge)!!! Great job everyone! A true team effort. Lindsay, God luv ya...you get to skate yet again. You know you are out of control. You know it's just a matter of time before you hurt someone. Please, get help.

maybe now lilo will begin to grasp that she is not above the law. I think even this is a victory...even tho you and I would have gotten a longer and harsher sentence

What about ALL the others who are in there--are they getting their time cut drastically as much as Lohan? I doubt it--na na na na reeks terribly of favortism!!!!!!! This young lady ain't gonna change--has had too many opportuities and taken advantage of none of them!!!!

There should be a national outcry over this. If this person wasn't a Hollywood star does anyone think she would only get 12 or 13 days in jail for violating her probation? And where is Mothers Against Drunk Drivers??? Funny how we haven't heard anything from them over this.

The judge likely knew when she handed out the 90-day sentence that because of severe overcrowding in the women's facility Lohan would probably serve at most 25 percent of the sentence.
All of Los Angeles County's prisons are severly overcrowded.

Why does this not surprise me. I guess being a celebrate makes things all better. If it was anyone else, we would all have to serve the full time.

How do you and can you impeach a judge?
Since the public is so incensed with this blatant lack of fair justice, getting the judge "de-throned" may send a message to the rest of the judicial system.
12 days is ridiculous for this spoiled druggy brat's escapades.
She "thumbed" her finger at the judicial system and proved that if you have money, you are above the law.

Is anyone truly surprised??? In any other state Ms Lohan would be a 'guest' of the state for the full 90 days! I say, make her parents finish out her sentence. And Judge Revel...shut it! Obviously you don't have the clout! So do us all a favor and find something you are more suited to. A greeter at Walmart???

It would be great if the judge could issue a reverse restraining order against the media. In other words, allow no media coverage within 1500 feet of her. Not only would she not get any face time on the "entertainment" programming, she would also be ostracized by the rest of Hollywood's elite who depend on that coverage to keep their careers in the spotlight.
It seems no other punishment works, and there is no room for her in jail. Time to get creative and take something from her that she values the most.. Exposure.

This is good news to hear.God is blessing this poor girl. She should be pardoned by the governor and not spend another day in jail. She does so much for humanity.Where can I get a tee shirt like the one the guy has in the picture?

This girl she will NEVER learn.Only 12 days??????????She's a drug addict...a crazy maniac.....a poor actress.Nancy Grace made me laugh when she called her:superstar. She's a skinny...sick girl from Long Island that wants publicity...because NOBODY wants her for a movie.Lindsay wake up....and go to church...you are so sick.Only your father sees trough you....your mother does not.

This just shows us how celebraties can get away with anything.

She should do the full 90 days if not more. Ordinary peopl;e do not get the breaks these so called celebrities do.

What a joke! What a waste of the tax dollar. 12 days should be about the same amount of time she would work off a drunk .
I dont know why they waste space and time on someone who could have it all and made the choice to waste it. She looked so old and worn out yesterday.

What a glaring double-standard for justice there is in this country, and it's all because idiots continue to buy the National Enquirer and watch garbage like TMZ. The justice system has been corrupted by Hollywood into a joke. If you or I had done the same crime you can bet your last dollar that we'd be in jail for six months with no possibility of "parole." This just makes me sick.

Twelve days?! Why even send her to jail? That is not a sentence, but an inconvenience; this is our justice system. I would hate to tell you what my son got for his DUI, five years ago; it was a wake up call. She needs to deal with her own demons, or they will deal with her.

justice this is america, let"S make a deal.

This is absolutely wrong. ANy one of us, would get the max.
She needs help and her family needs to see it.
Celebrity's need to know that they need to answer to the same laws and stuff as we do.

WELL WHADDA YOU KNOW. SHE GETS A SLAP, NO TAP ON THE HAND FOR HER BEHAVIOR. JUST TELLS HER SHE CAN GO AND DO IT ALL AGAIN AND GET AWAY WITH IT, BECAUSE OF WHO SHE IS. BET IF IT WAS ME I WOULD SERVE THE WHOLE 90 DAYS.
