Zac Efron Debuts New Fauxhawk: Super Stylish or Kinda Silly?

'High School Musical' star Zac Efron has long been a hair trendsetter--his longish bangs and spiky, perfectly-messed-up locks both caught on quick with tweens and teens across the country. And last night he debuted a new look sure to be copied by the masses soon: a messy fauxhawk.

Efron unveiled his new style at the red-carpet premiere for his latest film 'Charlie St. Cloud' in Los Angeles. Though his movie is generating some good buzz in Hollywood, his new hairstyle is what has the blogs chattering today.

So the real question is, does it work? The jury's still out. As the young actor tries to shed his 'High School' image and take more mature roles, a fauxhawk seems to almost counteract that effort--particularly at the premiere of one of his first 'adult' roles. But maybe he's just flexing his style muscle; just trying out a new look to see how he likes it. Or maybe he gave this hairstyle no more than 30 seconds thought! Wonder what Vanessa Hudgens thinks...

That is about the dumbest looking hair style I've seen in a while, especially with a nice suit. Obviously, he did that himself on a whim. He needs to stay off whims.

Sorry, but a "faux-hawk" isn't appropriate on any guy over the age of 14. It does however, make him look even gayer than usual.
