Report: Zsa Zsa Gabor Lies in Critical Condition

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, 93, is in critical condition and not responding to human contact, less than one week after undergoing hip replacement surgery.

Her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, told Reuters, "The doctors want to observe her over the weekend to make sure her condition improves, but right now it is not looking good."

Gabor's condition is a shocking turnaround from her status following surgery on Monday. "This is the happiest day of my life," her husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt told reporters outside their home Monday afternoon.

Von Anhalt did not tell Reuters that his wife was technically in a coma, although she was not responding to people. In addition to the broken hip Gabor underwent surgery for, she also suffered a concussion. Von Anhalt says doctors are concerned her condition will continue to take a turn for the worse.

Gabor was watching 'Jeopardy' at her home in Bel-Air, California on Saturday night when she fell when trying to answer a phone call. Gabor has been partially paralyzed since a 2002 car accident -- publicist John Blanchette describes her as "pretty much bedridden and wheelchair-bound for the last eight years."

The glitzy star of such films as 'Lili' and 'Moulin Rouge' had a stroke five years ago and was originally listed in serious condition at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center after the fall.

Von Anhalt said the surgery lasted three hours and "went well" in spite of the risks involved. "It is a dangerous surgery at her age," he noted. He said Gabor received care from the same surgeon who repaired California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger broken femur in 2006.

Zsa Zsa Gabor is one of the last of the silver screen divas. She will be in my prayers.

Well, not a silver screen queen in the sense of Bette Davis but still a major Hollywood personality. Her starring role as The Queen of Outer Space was probably how she'll be remembered most but she became a household name as she made the rounds on the talk shows and went through husband after husband. I always thought she was a hoot. Hope she has the strength to recover.

Zsa Zsa Gabor is no damn diva. She did a small hand full of movies 40 years ago. That does not make her a Silver Screen Diva ... really what she is, is an over rated actress has been as well as a nasty hateful BI*CH who thinks she's better than everybody else.

I agree with you! most people responding probably do not even remember her. She never made it big on the movie screen. She was very self involved and I never found her appealing nor did my parents

Gee, you're a nice person. If Zsa Zsa is so hateful and nasty, maybe you should be praying for her. How often cowards like you attack a person when they are down. Why don't you ask her family if you can just go to the hospital and give her a few swift kicks in person. You appear to enjoy that. Seems to me you are hateful and nasty for writing such cold and calloused thoughts on a board meant for wishing the woman well. It would have been better for you to keep your thoughts to yourself. Although I'm not a fan of Zsa Zsa, in her heyday, Zsa Zsa was a Diva, and was also well known by many around the world. In addition, you don't have to be an actress to be a Diva.

I agree, Declan, plus she used to like to hang out with Latin American dictators. She was nothing but a no-talent, publicity-hungry hustler. Her sister Eva was the real actress, and a much nicer person.

My prayers are with Zsa Zsa. She may not have starred in many movies but she certainly has made herself be known throughout the world. I will remember her best as Minerva on Batman. This was the 102nd and final episode for that series. Minerva was an owner and operator of a mineral spa. Minerva loved diamonds,jewelry... Picture Mommy Dead also stands out to me.

Get well Zsa Zsa. Hip replacement is now fun. I know, been there, done that!! I am sure her sister and mom are smiling down at her right now!

Have to correct you on one item acheermom: the episode of "Batman" in which Zsa Zsa guest-starred as Minerva, was episode 120, not 102. (I think you made a typo.)
