Eric Roberts in 'Rehab' for Rx Marijuana Habit

Eric Roberts moved into Dr. Drew Pinsky's Pasadena Recovery Center last week for a crippling addiction to prescription marijuana, his wife has revealed.
The 'Pope of Greenwich Village' actor has been off hard drugs and alcohol for 15 years, Eliza Roberts tells
E! News. "He has no interest in anything, other than marijuana."
Roberts has anxiety issues, so he turned to doctor-prescribed weed for relief after traditional medication did not agree with his body. He had no such issue with the marijuana. "However, a dependency is a dependency and he doesn't want to be dependent on it anymore."
A rep for the actor has already tried to downplay Eliza Roberts' revelation, saying the actor is seeking help "not for any serious drug/substance, or prescription drug abuse problem.
The 'Celebrity Rehab' cast also includes reality TV star, Jason Wahler, Tiger Woods' mistress, Rachel Uchitel and 'Party of Five' star Jeremy London.
"Eric Roberts is my roommate and is simply amazing. He's an incredible person." London told RadarOnline.com. He went on to say the cast is "unbelievably cool," and are all "getting along beautifully."
"Dr. Drew rocks and there is real healing here," London said.
Roberts is the father of Emma Roberts, an young actress who most notably played Nancy Drew on the big screen and also starred opposite her famous aunt in the 2010 romantic comedy, 'Valentine's Day.'

I always loved Roberts, he is so hot! However, I think this rehab thing is rather ridiculous unless he has been lying about the extent of what drugs he really uses.

well ya george it can be addictive in some people ,but it is one off the safest substance you can use ,safer then coffee even .It is possible to OD on coffee even if you drink over 20 cups at once, but im still going to go make a cup of coffee anyway.

ok, so his high resistance to marijuana prevents him from getting the result he wants and he goes to rehab to get other drugs. got it!

What kind of Doctor Prescribes Marijuana for anxiety issues?? This stuff causes a person to freak out and get more anxious. Addictive? Probably if you want to go on a reality show. If that caccacling sister of his showed up at his place - I could see him taking an extra dose for an escape.

Seriously, no one on here thinks pot can be a problem? There are people that have addictive personalities and yes, can get addicted to pot. It's more the problem of not being able to live "life on life's terms" and they smoke it to escape. Some people can handle pot like they do alcohol, occasionally and for random fun. Others do it on a daily basis and that can be a problem. Quit busting Eric's chops for trying to get his life in better order!
