What's Behind Mel Gibson's Pathological Ranting?
As we hear more and more expletive-laden crazy-pants rants from Mel Gibson we have to wonder whether Mel has lost that little voice inside his head that tells him he has crossed a line, or whether he ever had that little voice in the first place.
Maybe the answer is that he just can't help himself.
Experts tell us that Mel's continued verbal diarrhea is pathological and deeply ceded in psychological issues.
"Mel is driven by his sexual frustration, fear of abandonment, and disillusionment at the realization that Oksana doesn't love him, but is merely a gold-digger," explains psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman, M.D.
The latest Gibson recording released by
Radar Online, has Gibson going after his baby mama Oksana Grigorieva's ex boyfriend, none other than James Bond, Timothy Dalton.
In the new tape, mad Mel says: "Did you get my last message about me being a bad father, and Tim being a great dad now?"
Oksana says "no" and Gibson continues, saying: "You didn't hear that one? Well, you should go and (expletive) him (Dalton), you know, you fickle (expletive), because I don't care."
And that's the nice part of the conversation. After hearing seven of mad Mel's recordings, it really does seem like he has no control over what comes out of his mouth and that in some sick and twisted way, he's actually enjoying what he's doing.
"He seems to be getting some kind of gratification by talk, talk, talking," says life coach and relationship expert
Tracey Steinberg. "It seems as though he has a lot of anger and resentment and he doesn't know how to express himself in a constructive and healthy way to people who want to help him. So instead he lashes out at the person who least wants to help him and the angry cycle continues.
Steinberg's advice to Mel, to put an end to his viral venting: "He would be better off treating himself to a nice vacation with people who care about him."
But psychology expert and "Cult of Celebrity" author Cooper Lawrence sees a darker side to Gibson's gabbing. Se believes he is fulfilling an acquired situational narcissism that has struck the star as he approaches the twilight of his career.
"No one is kissing his ass anymore. He's not a big star. The anger that comes with that causes his lashing out. This is no different than when Alec Baldwin called his daughter a little pig," Lawrence explains. "Mel can't shut up because he feels the need to constantly validate himself and he is doing that through his anger. These narcissists lash out impulsively and cant stop themselves. He is out of control. A sane person would have stopped before it reached this point."

I say to Mel just pay Oksana off so she will go away!!!! You have lost the daughter you fathered with her SO just let it go.You have seven children whom from all published accounts you are close to...it is time to move on with your life your future.ALL human beings have trials and tribulations in this life. ALL of us. Just put your chin up and pay that witch off so SHE will disappear. And go get some mood stabilizers AND some BOTOX!!!!!!

Is this baby girl really his daughter? I always wondered. Gibson got played by a "PRO" Gibson finially figured this out and he got very pissed. No shrink needed.

"a nice vacation with people who care about him" - yeah right. Rage-aholics love nothing more than to bring out their worst while on vacation with their loved ones. Their victims are trapped, away from home, and can't just walk out. They are desperate to placate their abusers to save face in public and salvage what should be a special occasion. Vacations and holidays are the ultimate control scenarios for abusers. That psychiatrist is unbelievably clueless.

Mel’s wife, Robyn came out publicly to state he has never abused a woman. Grigorieva is the fiend in this travesty, not Mr. Gibson. Listen to those tapes with open ears! Oksana dubbed her own voice on them and had an actor falsify Mel’s voice. The first tape’s dubbing is clean, not muffled in the background like Mel’s is. Get real, back off gossip column writers. If you don’t feed the public this particular story then the abuser, Oksana not Mel will fade into obscurity.

If he cared anything about HIS child, he wouldn't be brutalizing, abusing, terrorizing, belittling and denigrating the mother of HIS child.

Deeply-seated . . . not ceded . . . means something like rooted below the surface in the unconsciousness, in the conditioning, in the things we learn before we can rationalize or interpret in language . . . that is what deeply-seated usually means.

Mel is obviously a drunk, and may be with some mental issues.
The mother of his child should run for the hills, and never look back.

There is a conspicuous absence of news between Mel requesting a paternity test in June 2009 and the recorded rants in 2010. What were the results of the paternity test?? Not-his-baby would be a big motive for his extraordinary rage, which was really out of character. A person can be made to do anything given the right conditions. Who's the baby's father?
