Obama on 'The View': 'I Don't Know Who Snooki Is'

President Barack Obama has no advice for the scandal-addled Mel Gibson and admits to knowing about Lindsay Lohan's jail sentence. (Though he's not sure WHY he knows that.) And thanks to the ladies of 'The View' and their hard hittin' questions, we now know Obama is unaware who Snooki is.

Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and the rest of the 'View' crew welcomed Obama for what was the first appearance on a daytime talk show by a sitting president. Watch a clip after the jump.

"Should Snooki run as mayor of Wasilla?" asked Behar -- in a reference to Sarah Palin's hometown -- during the rapid-fire round. After chuckling, Obama responded: "I got to admit, I don't know who Snooki is."

(It must have slipped Obama's mind that Snooki, she of 'Jersey Shore' infamy, joined up with his 2008 opponent Sen. John McCain to oppose his tax on tanning beds.)

He was also asked if he knew Lohan was in jail. Indeed he did, however he couldn't quite remember why he would know that. Obama also may not have RadarOnline.com in his bookmarks, as he didn't seem to be too aware of the rage-tastic phone scandal that has sunk Gibson's career.

"Does Mel Gibson need anger management?" Behar asked.

"I haven't seen a Mel Gibson movie in a while," Obama dodged.

The president was booked on the ABC talker in order to reach as many women as possible. He had his own reasons though: "Look, I was trying to find a show that Michelle actually watched -- and so I thought, this is it, right here. All those news shows she's like 'Eh, let me get the clicker.'"

Pres Obama will never get credit for anything except the bad, that is too bad. Ok you hate him thats fine, but weather you admit it or not and most likely you never will. He has done more in his 20 months in office then, Bush 1 and 2, Clinton, and Regan. Pres Obama is in a dam if you do and dam if you don't situation. I will vote for him again if he decides to run again. Most of you will never see a man trying, the only thing you will ever see is a black man that should not be in the white house. We take two steps forward and five steps backwards. The most dangerours person in November is a anger voter that don't know the facts. Most of you would rather believe a lie instead of the truth. He has been on Fox.

Lighten up everyone, he was just trying to be sociable to lighten the load that he faces every day! He messed up with Snooki, though, as he talked about her in the camp. speech. I think Elizabeth as usual was way out of line trying to pin point him about jobs, when he's done a lot, as he explained. Rome wasn't built in a day and if it wasn't for all her Repub. cronies we wouldn't have been in a recession. He kept us from going into a depression!!

Our President is a man of the people and tries to be accessible to the people. If he had declined an invitation on some OTHER show he would have been called "elitist"...Just a case of sour grapes and an ongoing defamation campaign against the sitting President from those who refuse to accept the fact that they lost in 2008. Where was your outrage when a former President was clearing brush, riding his bike, boating, and playing golf as 2 wars raged and who was pushing the privatization of Social Security in CA when Katrina had left NO in shambles?

Ok, Everyone Lighten up! He was just trying to be sociable, and go on a program where the every day person would watch, and not a political program, as he stated, he tried to find something that his wife liked. As far as him not remembering Snooki, he had mentioned her in his Camp. Speech, as he talked about "The Situation" and all of her NJ cronies. As far as Elizabeth immediately wanting to put him on the spot about the jobs, maybe she better think what life would be like if we kept going into the recession, as he saved us from going into a depression!!
