Jon Secada Talks About His Chippendales Alter-Ego
Jon Secada's recent appearance with the Chippendales male dancers might have caused fans of the crooner, who had major pop success in the 1990s, to do a major double-take, but for the 'Just Another Day' singer, it was just a night of fun with the boys during a party celebrating the launch of his new album.
"It was fun to take my shirt off and represent with those guys," the singer, 47, tells
PopEater. "I was joking around, but I was saying, 'I wouldn't mind being in Chippendales.'"
"This is an alter-ego to my career," he adds. "If I could sing and strip at the same time that would be kind of cool."

But that would require a few lessons from his fellow shirtless fellows. "I would need some training to do what they do," says Secada. "Just a little of the bump and grind, just to do it the right way."
The Cuban-America singer, who has been holding down the Simon Cowell spot on 'Latin American Idol' for the last four years, has evolved into a hardcore workout machine since his time in the American spotlight.
"It's been baby steps for the past couple of years," he says. He runs five miles a day, works out with weights three times a week and does an estimated 500 ab crunches a day. "I know it works because I hate it every time I do it," he says of the crunches.
Secada also has hardcore "eating ethics," which means balanced meals, no pasta or bread at night and sugar-free desserts when he has to have a treat.
"Between the workout and the eating, I have made it my lifestyle."
Secada's transformation has been so phenomenal that a Spanish-speaking Miami radio station featured his picture on its website and took a poll -- and some 69 percent of voters thought the picture was of Secada's head on someone else's body.
Secada, who stopped by the Miami station in person to show off his bod, insists it's all him. And the stripping/singing career could heat up.
"It could happen," he muses. "Either way, I love that I am in my late 40s and I still stay in shape."

Chipendale dancers--give me a break. When we horny women go out to see male strippers, we want the real stuff. These dancers don't show you any more than one could see at the beach. We want it ALL off. Now that's a real bachelorette party--lap dances and everything. Yum

So even though we are the grossest, fatest nation in the whole world, this guy gets insulted for being in shape? This is why people hate America..you're all idiots. If the guy was fat, you'd be on here saying gross. Why is it so hard to believe that maybe the guy has a workout and eating routine that helps him keep up with the young studs?! How about just giving him a bit of respect for taking care of himself and hitting the weights?!

always wondered how "I" would react to actually seeing a Chippendales show "LIVE"..i'd like to but then again i might be alittle shy ..i'm a grown woman and would love to see these gentleman!!What's wierd is, I can't walk(i'm in a wheelchair) and i don't know how i'd react but as much as i LOVE MEN,it'd be nice to see these guys...and no, i'm not the type to make a fool of myself by squealing and screaming "take it all off!"..wouldn't expect them to take it "all" off either..just alittle teasing would be better.. but honestly,these gentlemen are BEAUTIFUL!!!
