Did Leonardo DiCaprio Pull Out of Mel Gibson Movie?

Leonardo DiCaprio might be a little leery of working with controversy-mired Mel Gibson -- RadarOnline.com is reporting Leo has withdrawn from a Gibson-directed viking film.

Asked if Leo still planned to be involved in the project, a source close to the 'Inception' star told Radar, "Not a chance." The film would have been the first collaboration between the two.

If officially confirmed, DiCaprio pulling out could be a major signifier of professional repercussions for Gibson in the wake of his alleged violent and racist rants.

"Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them," Radar's insider said, citing DiCaprio's worries of risking his reputation by associating himself with Gibson.

Shooting was slated to begin this fall.

And apparently spelling too - it's Leonardo.

As to him not being in Mel's movie - it's not whether Mel is guilty or not, it's the fact that Mel can't even get a distributor for the CURRENT movie he is trying to market - it may not get into a movie theater at all. Leo doesn't appear in movies that might not have a hope of getting to a theater, savvy guy, until Mel's woes are over, he won't find too many smart Hollywood types wanting to stand on his side of the line - no one wants to be tainted. Unfortunately, in this type of case it most definitely is guilty until proven innocent - and not to say Mel IS innocent, but I agree, Oksana doesn't seem very honest and definitely seems to be scheming this whole debacle - I wonder what the real truth is? We will probably never know!

I think Leanardo is a wimp. If he can't realize what has happened to Mel, then I would never see another movie with Leanardo. Everybody has the right to rant and rave, especially if Mel's "lady friend" is extorting. I think she is, otherwise, why the tapes, and why was she so calm during the taping. He probably found out that she was a gold digger. Keep the faith, Mel.

this is all speculation. his acting jobs havent been that good lately.hes just in everything. to diss mel because of this is rude. even if he did all they say, its his buisness.fact is he still makes great films.actors are a special breed, and should stick together.robert downey was a mess, and people stuck by him. most of your hollywood actors were screwed up at one time or another.bogie,flynn,cagney,brando,jack n,dennis hopper,fonda,etc. but they still made great films.we shouldnt take there private lives to account.they make us believe with the parts they play.stop crapping on the guy......

Drug addiction is way different from psychotic & deranged...if my husband told me he was going to put me in the rose garden, I wouldn't exactly be on his side, help or not. Mel is not a good person.

I agree that Bogart, Flynn, Brando, Nicholson, Hopper, Fonda, and even etcetera were screwed up at least some of the time, but Cagney? Nope. He was one of the most straight-arrow guys in Hollywood, besides being a great actor.

De Caprio has what?! "Earned the right to work with who he wants." Decaprio has NOT earned anything. Certainly not as a very poor actor and certainly NOT as a citizen of the world. He hasn't acted since GILBERT GRAPE. He just stumbles through parts with the same brooding expression. Now if DeCaprio wants to "Punish" directors, other actors, and producers start with the useless Oliver Stone and his anti-sematic remarks. Or better yet correct his own wothless behavior.

Leo has been in plenty of movies...look it up, especially Revolutionary Road which was nominated for three oscars and he was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama. Where are you getting your information?

I am a middle aged white female and as far as I am concerned the only movie Leo Dicaprio has made that was worth watching was The Aviator. Wow, what a great movie and I am not so sure it was him or the actors in the movie with him. However, he is a wonderful person and has done untold unselfish acts of kindness throughout the world in donations of millions of dollars and volunteering with rebuilding cities after natural disasters.
