Did Leonardo DiCaprio Pull Out of Mel Gibson Movie?

Leonardo DiCaprio might be a little leery of working with controversy-mired Mel Gibson -- RadarOnline.com is reporting Leo has withdrawn from a Gibson-directed viking film.

Asked if Leo still planned to be involved in the project, a source close to the 'Inception' star told Radar, "Not a chance." The film would have been the first collaboration between the two.

If officially confirmed, DiCaprio pulling out could be a major signifier of professional repercussions for Gibson in the wake of his alleged violent and racist rants.

"Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them," Radar's insider said, citing DiCaprio's worries of risking his reputation by associating himself with Gibson.

Shooting was slated to begin this fall.

Doesn't make it right. He needs help. Ask his wife. She is probably he only one who knows the truh about MEL.

If my sources are correct, it may be that Mel Gibson is suffering from Mercury Poisoning! Apparently he eats sushi daily, which contains high levels of Mercury, as most fish does these days. Mr. Gibson is also supposed to be taking at least 30 vitamins a day, which may also contain Mercury. Mercury is very toxic and leads to psychotic behavior. During the reign of the Russian Tsar, Ivan the Terrible, he went insane and had rampages of violence, even killing his own son. Turns out he was being treated with Mercury for headaches. Unfortunately, unless one is tested for levels of Mercury, it is impossible to correctly diagnose. It would be advisable for Mr. Gibson to be tested for Mercury, and then avoid sushi and seafood, as well as detox his body, in order for him to regain his sanity and prevent other health disorders. Mr. Gibson has always been a fine actor and has enjoyed a wonderful career in the film industry; it would be sad for him to lose it all just because of unknowingly ingesting great amounts of Mercury. We should ALL get checked before we, too, wind up going crazy!

I like how it says that DiCaprio won't work with him because he doesn't want to taint his image, not because he thinks what Mel did was wrong!! Way to go, hold those morals up high!!

Big mistake for DiCapiro, he was wrong for the part any way, Mel made a good move letting him go, I wouldn't contract DiCapiro for one of my films either. He carries that green crap to far, plus he runs with Al Gore, another waste.

DiCaprio might not have pulled out of the project because of the "scandal" or any perceived taint. He might have pulled out because Gibson is rightly perceived as being not exactly stable right now and any production he's involved in runs a very real risk of going over time and over budget and being a huge emotional strain on anyone involved with it? Face it folks, as you probably have cause to know from your own workplace, unhinged, out of control people are very difficult to work with and if you could opt out of having to deal with them, you would. Why is DiCaprio different? Please don't say it's because he makes more money than you do because, just between us, there's not enough money in the world for me to let myself in for that.
