'Jersey Shore' Star Snooki Arrested in ... Jersey

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was arrested in Seaside Heights, NJ, TMZ confirms.

The reality starlet, whose show just premiered its second season on MTV, was taken into custody by the cops for disorderly conduct.

PEOPLE is reporting that Snooki was arrested for public intoxication. "She didn't hurt anyone or get in a fight. She just needs to be in a drunk tank for two hours," a source told them.

According to TMZ, earlier in the day, Snooki was at the beach with a beer bong full of Coca-Cola.

Jenni "J-Woww" Farley wrote on Twitter Friday, "Going to bail @Sn00ki out of jail... The things I do for this girl, I swear." Several Jersey Shore cast members where photographed visiting the jail.

"On Friday at approximately 15:23 hours, Nicole Polizzi was acting in a disorderly matter while on the beach... Miss Polizzi was escorted from the beach by patrolmen and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct ...near the boardwalk. She was transported to police headquarters and later released on a summons," Chief of Police Thomas J. Boyd said in a statement.

A spokesperson at the police department explains, "A summons means she'll get a court date, but doesn't have to pay bail to get out of jail. She'll pay a fine when assessed [by a judge]."

for all that she is...does she deserve to be insulted as she is...sure, she's putting herself "out there" and she is a character that people like to watch to be able to say "Christ, at least I'm not as bad as HER," but as I see it, she hasn't done any harm to anyone except herself and it's just kinda cruel to see such mean things said about her. And no, I am not a fan.
