Steven Tyler Replacing Kara DioGuardi on 'American Idol'?
There are more shakeups occurring in the 'American Idol' house. Following Thursday night's
bombshell that
Ellen DeGeneres is leaving the show,
TMZ sources are claiming
Steven Tyler might be joining the judges' panel. When reporters caught up with Tyler late last night in Los Angeles, they asked the Aerosmith frontman who he thought would be a good replacement on the show. Tyler smirked and shrugged off the question.
"We are not commenting on any rumors or speculation," a rep for FOX told
PEOPLE.
There is also speculation that Jennifer Lopez has
signed on to become a season 10 judge. Reports claim she is close to inking a deal to replace the departing DeGeneres.
DeGeneres announced Thursday that she is
leaving the show after only one season, following fellow judge
Simon Cowell out the door.
"A couple months ago, I let FOX and the 'American Idol' producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me," she said. "It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings."
Kara DioGuardi, who just completed her second year on the show, is not under contract next year and FOX has not announced if she'll return. Randy Jackson is expected to stay on the panel.

Why would he do that? I dont think he needs any money, and he would be just lowering himself. The show is desperate now. Without Simon, I wont watch. Steven is great, he is way beyond being on a stupid show like this one.

you know K , some people do things because they want to and like to do. not everyone is about the money. and if you dont like the show then flip the channel. idol doesnt need your 2 cents.
Steven isnt gay, and who had a sex change? I think someone is confused on who we are talking about.....

When I see a name that really makes me say, "hey now that's a good choice" I'll decide who I would like to be a new judge haven't heard a good name yet....until then get rid of all of them except for Randy.

If the judges are replaced by actual musicians like Steven Tyler, there is a chance I'd start watching again. This past season was the first time I had no desire to root for anyone with the lack of talent the judges gave us.

I am so glad Kara is gone, and I wish Ellen well...she's just too sweet for Idol. Love the idea of S. Tyler as well...a REAL musician who has been touring longer than most of the contestants have been alive. JLo is OK by me too...she was a good mentor and she is a really good performer even if her singing voice is a little weak. She can help them with performing, and she seems pretty kind. I think I'll tune back in...after Casey James got voted off last year I didn't bother to watch...I love blues and guitar so the top two didn't interest me at all. Maybe better days ahead!

yeeeees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Steven Tyler. He is gonna rock season 10. He has been around for forever. He has a ton of music knowledge about being a singer in the music business. These contestants better know how lucky they are!! If I was a singer I would love to get advice from him. Thank goodness that jerk Kara got fired! She would talk crap in her interviews and she did damage for the show.

I think that Jermaine Jackson would add flavor to the panel. I also think that Kevin Fedderline ( you know, Britney's ex) would make a good addition. Mix it up a bit!!!

Bring back Harry Connick. Kara will be missed. Her and Simon were the best . Stephen Tyler is a stretch fro this show.

They say, all shows eventually get to be past their prime and should go out with a bang. I guess It is time for Idol to do the same. The only next major blow would be if Ryan seacrest leaves.

Would love to see Taylor Dayne on "Idol" she is great musically and has a wonderful sense of humor.

LEON RUSSELL SHOULD BE A NEW JUDGE. NO MUSICIAN IS BETTER THAN HE IS.
PLUS--IT MIGHT PREVENT HIM FROM SINGING ANY LONGER. DUDE--YOUR VOICE IS SHOT-BUT NOT YOUR BRILLIANCE AND TALENT.- YOU ARE MY IDOL AND ALWAYS WILL BE.

Now there's someone I would want to see. Steve Tyler? NOT!
I always wondered why American Idol never had Steven Tyler as a mentor in the past. He would be a perfect judge too. Talk about talent and musical genius!! I love him and always have, and I think the ratings would soar if he were on the show!!!

And they're keeping Randy Jackson? Why? He is the lamest judge on the show. Kara at least makes good observations, while Randy just says that everyone is "pitchy." And why is Ryan still on the show? He is the most annoying, and at times cruel, host ever. Maybe this is time to do a really clean sweep. If the new judges are Randy, JLo and Steven Tyler -- I definately will not watch -- they are three people whose opinions I couldn't care less about. Maybe it's time for AI to just fold the tent all together.

YO, bstill. seeeeeeeeee yaaaaaaaaa
Wow I didn't think Steven Tyler would ever be a judge on Idol. I think it's a good pick I think Gene Simmons would also be a pretty judge as well and the same for Bret Michaels.
