Lindsay Lohan Released From Jail, Heads to Rehab
Lindsay Lohan is a free woman -- sort of.
The actress was released from jail after serving 13 full days of her 90-day sentence for violating her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI. Lohan was freed early due to good behavior and overcrowding at the jail.
After leaving the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, the 'Mean Girls' star reported to rehab to fulfill the second requirement of her sentence -- that she spend 90 days in a full-time rehabilitation facility.
"She was released at 1:35AM. She has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center. And she will now be under the supervision of the LA County probation department. This concludes her custody," Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said, according to
PEOPLE.
Lohan was originally set to enter Morningside Recovery, but over the weekend, Judge Marsha Revel changed her mind, opting to allow Lohan to seek treatment at UCLA Medical Center,
TMZ reports.
"There was concern that [Morningside Recovery] was not a secure enough facility," the district attorney's office told PEOPLE.
Lohan will spend 90 days in rehab. After that, she will be on probation until August 2011.
Her legal woes began in June 2007, when she was taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving and cocaine possession. Just a month earlier, she was arrested on another DUI charge.
Following her first DUI, Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and one count of reckless driving.

court ordered rehab rarely works, you have to want to change first. She is a very talented young lady, I hope she does get her life together.

Actually studies have shown that court ordered rehab and voluntary rehab have very similar success rates. It seems it does not matter what gets you into treatment but rather what you do when you get there that counts.
what a joke !!! anyone else would serve their time.rehab will not work she tried it 2 or 3 times before.she will end up dead at a young age.take her license away too

This is total bullsh*t. She can't and won't learn anything by only serving a tiny piece of time in jail. She's gonna be right back at it, especially after she gets out of rehab early too.

I hope she's counting her blessings for being allowed to only have to spend 13 days in a prison. If she is smart, she will do everything in her power, to put her life back together. Being a celebrity has its advantages and disadvantages, and life is what you make it. Life is way to short to just let it slip away, by using excessive drugs, alcohol and sex. To many young people just can't seem to handle what life throws at them, celebrity or not. In todays society, the young think everything should be given to them and that they should't have to work for it. It's what will get me the fast buck, they don't appreciate what they have. They end up throwing everything away. We as a society need to teach our children to be wiser, take little league sports for instance-we don't teach them as a team we coddle them an do it as a clinique where nobody wins so they don't know how to deal with life situations when they are old enough to get out and see what the real world is all about. We are crippling them, instead of helping them. Lindsey lots of luck on your rehab, you have had a very successful career, just get your life back on track and do what you like. If the career your in isn't what makes you happy, make a change to what really makes you happy. It's your life and nobody elses.

Sorry, but Lohan was NOT IN PRISON, she was in JAIL! There is a huge difference. She got off easy with a 90 day sentence to JAIL and only serving 13 days. No matter how much over crowding there is, she is lucky she did not serve at least half of her sentence. Plus she was not in general population serving her time. I hope she wants help for her problems, if not, rehab will be a waste of time.
This is such a shame. She will be dead within a year. De-nile isn't just a river.

illegal little kritters millions ok enough said to get back
to world news;About Lindsay she might have some money but she's in a lot pain & going thru a self hell.She is sick w/a addiction
problem she's not a criminal yet all that can be said about her how long she spent in jail.If we could just open are eye's to see this is wide spread & way out of control.

Miss Lhan is not a person we should be concerned about. Is she really an idol for American youth? Fake breast, hair lip injections. and only God knows what else. She reminds me of the old joke wher ethe woman took off so much of her body parts and tossed them in a draw and jumped into bed. The man was so confused taht he didn't know if he should jump in the bed or the draw.

Seems like she ends up laughing at all of us, because she really doesn't want to change, just going through the mechanics of it all. What a waste. We pity her. Money is the root of all evil, and this is really evil, since drug addiction and alcohol have ruined so many rich, young lives and turned them into sorry, pitiful, losers.
